I'm having electric power issue on my 2006 Town Car. Diving down the road the the power seems to blank out and all dash needles zero out and the battery light comes on and when driving the head lights pulsates. If I accelerate then everything is restore to normal. I replaced the alternator new (not rebuild) 9 months ago and recheck it for voltage out put and its OK, also, have check all ground wires. Any more Ideas? Could the alternator being going bad and just not catching it at the right time when checking it?

Age of the Battery?

Let's check the low cost possible causes first.

1. Car batteries die at different rates due to their location. Where is this car located and age of battery? I don't think it's a battery issue--but you never know.
2. Who made your new alternator? Hope it was made in the USA.
3. " recheck it for voltage out put and its OK" What is ok? what's the voltage at idle and during driving? Did the voltage drop when A/C was turned on and not recover? When I had this type of issue, I would check the voltage as the car was used. 15 years ago, they came out with a LCD screen tester that plugged into the lighter socket---great tool to check voltage issues like yours.
4. The voltage regulator could be failing or poor connection due to dirty or damaged wiring?
5. And the last thing you want is a module problem. My 07 Designer had 12 of those costly PIA "things".

I hope it's an easy fix for you!

You may want to check the positive cables leading from/to the battery. Once you have verified the cables are the proper gauge and serviceable, apply some die-electric grease to the terminals and connections.
