Calling on all Lincoln and Ford owners to do a test for me and let me know if you have this same issue. Every time I have a cell phone conversation taking place in my 2011 Lincoln MKT with Navigation engaged, or crash alert engaged, the person on the other end of the call enjoys an echo during the conversation, which ends the conversation. This is a major issue for me and basically makes the Bluetooth functionality useless for having conversations. People speaking with me can deal with the wind noise, but as soon as the echo kicks in, the call comes to an immediate halt.

I have raised this issue with Lincoln Customer Service, and the car has had full servicing by the dealer and any other tech resources that the dealer has access to at Ford, and the final response I have received is that this is "NORMAL" operation. The dealer tested several other Ford / Lincoln vehicles, including another MKT, and it has the same issue.

I recently rented a foreign vehicle, that costs substantially less than my MKT, and it does not have the issue.

I would appreciate every Lincoln / Ford owner doing this test, and if you experience the issue, would appreciate you placing a service call into Lincoln at (800) 521-4140.

Looking forward to everyone's replies.

Thank you!

I don't have that issue, on my 2010 however I get random instances of it going into privacy mode which is essentially mute. That's a lot of fun on calls cause I don't know it happened until I go 2-3 menus deep when no one responds to me talking.

I have not had that, but I have experienced a sporadic disconnect of the Bluetooth as well. My major issue is that I just cannot have navigation or any internal system beeps (such as crash alert) when I am talking to someone. If anything beeps while the person is talking, they immediately get an echo, and they are very quick to tell me about it, right before they decide it is time to hang up. I allowed Lincoln customer service to have the pleasure of experiencing the echo first hand!!

Thank you for responding.

Absolutely no issues on my '11. Could it possibly be associated with your phone? Otherwise, may be the microphone in the MKt (which I doubt, given the circumstances you say it happens).
Just for grins, try 'deleting' your phone and then re-sync.

yeah, second this.

Also what did lincoln say? I seem to recall an issues with I think the flex's and it was resolved by replacing the mic, but I may be mistaken

I have had the issue with at least 4 different phones. The dealer also had the issue with his phone. The dealer also experienced the issue in another '11 MKT. The dealer also experienced the issue in other Ford vehicles. They claim they have replaced everything associated with the cell phone system. Try this....set a destination, get a call going with a friend / relative, make sure the system (navigation) beeps as your friend or relative is talking over the bluetooth, and then ask them if they hear themselves speaking.....Have you tried this?

I currently have the issue with an iPhone 5s, and Ford / Lincoln has told the Dealer to tell me this is "Normal" operation of the system. I guess the CEO of Lincoln / Ford does not have this issue, because if they did, it definitely would not be considered NORMAL.
