I have a 2024 Black Label Nautilus, I am current on service updates and today about 30 minutes ago, I see the message on screen that said, Drive Control fault Service Required. The only option was to select OK with the touch pad and it went away. I have already taken it in a couple of months ago for the shock recall and all of the other updates that went with it. Mileage is around 2,140. Anyone else experiencing this issue ?

Hi Black Label Life. Did you also receive a notification warning through the LincolnWay App on your cell phone? You normally should, if you have linked the app to your vehicle.

If you did, do not delete it. In this way, you have proof/verification of the warning/error to show the Service Advisor when you bring your car in.

Keep us updated and good luck.

No I did not receive any notifications via Lincoln App. I did take a pic before I selected OK.
I also restarted car about 3 hours later and no notifications popped up since then.

Dealing with a similar issue, any updates?

The Drive Control Fault error message popped up the first time today on my ‘24 Nautilus Black Label today. Nautilus has 10590 miles on it.

Interestingly I had started and shut off the car three times within 10 minutes and it was during the third start that the error came up. Also after I pressed the Reverse selection and it did not take the first time I pressed “R”. It was during the 2nd press of “R” that the error popped up.

If it happpens again, then it’s off to the dealer I go.

I'm by no means saying this is the root cause for you - I had this happen with my Corsair if I pressed more than one of the shifter keys at the same time and/or one of them in succession. Usually a rushed attempt at parking. It was a soft error and went away after I shut the car off and restarted. Happened maybe 2-3 times in the year I owned it. Keep us posted on your situation!

Thank you GooberPeas0911 ! As an IT person, your explanation makes perfect sense to me. Of course, the Lincoln should not be throwing an error if someone accidentally or purposely pushes the shift selection keys too fast or numerous times in succession.

I will continue to monitor this and update if something else happens.

I agree that it should not throw a user facing error so quickly. What I imagine is happening is it is interpreting a key fault, and as a fail safe to keep it from picking a wrong gear direction (which could have big consequences) as a CYA it wants you to bring it in for a check up. Maybe if it happens several times in a row, or over a period of time throw a service message.

A "slow down compadre" would be sufficient for most people.

I like that! “Slow down compadre”! Or as my friend says, “slow down turbo!”

The car does not know whether it was user initiated or self induced due to a real issue. Car could say: Hey driver, did you push the buttons too quickly? and ask for confirmation!

One thing I learned. Take your time allow the system to fully boot before touching anything. I know I know we’re all in a rush. It really only takes a minute. Let the maps load, let it fully boot. These things are not super computers. They’re slow. If you confuse it while it’s booting you can cause an error. Also, if the error goes away and don’t come back it’s just a glitch. Only need to worry if it comes up and stays up. Ever have a home computer lock up or do something weird and you turn it off and on and it’s ok ? Same thing.

SOMEONE THAT ACTUALLY HAS COMMON SENSE, LOVE TO SEE IT.

I got this message today as I was leaving the grocery store. To the best of my knowledge, I did nothing to cause this.
I logged into Lincoln to try and run a vehicle health report and am unable to find where to do this.
Checking my emails, the last vehicle health report I received on the Nautilus was in October.
There are no messages on the Lincoln App that reference this error, but I did take a picture of the pop up on the Nautilus screen.
I suspect this is nothing I need to worry about, but was certainly disconcerting when I first saw the message.

We are driving a "computer on wheels" and all it takes is a simple "glitch" to cause a problem. Could have been anything from you selecting your gear of choice too soon, before the car's systems were ready, etc. Or it could be because you accidentally hit two drive mode buttons at the same time or glanced off one while pushing another.
It's only when the problem repeats itself more than "once in a while" that concern should be noted and a trip to the dealer advised.

Did it go away on a restart?

Did it go away on a restart?
Yes it did.

I have a 2022 Lincoln Navigator and I've documented this numerous times with the dealer. One dealer replaced an entire wiring harness under the driver seat saying that this was the issue. The other 2 dealers we took it too just keep reprogramming the software saying that there was a firmware update. Unfortunately it still continues to happen after that harness was replaced and after 5 software/firmware updates. Most recent alarm was while we were driving to Florida from Ohio at 70mph and I got the alarm out of left field. I did not touch anything and it happened about 2 hours into the drive. Very concerning nobody seems to know what causes this issue.

What was the final fix for this issue? I just had mine appear on Thursday
