Hey guys,
1st time posting here so little about myself and the car first. I am a true lincoln fan, now 18 years old and on my 3rd Lincoln since I was 16 (2011 MKX, 2013 MKX, 2015 MKZ) and I loved all my cars so far. I currently have a decked out, black on black with the blackish grey wheels, 2015 CPO Lincoln MKZ. Has every single option that could have been bought. It was supposedly owned by the dealership owner of White Plains Lincoln in NY. Registered as a commercial vehicle, I was initially told it was a loaner car but then told it was owned by the owner (he is currently driving the EXACT same car but a 2016, so I could kind of believe it. Plus who gets THX, active park assist, active cruise control, 3000$ pano roof, etc. On a loaner car? Owned car for 2 months now, but has been in the shop at Hassett Lincoln of Wantagh for a month. So I only put around 4000 miles on it (which is actually low for me, I usually drive 60k/ year.) But, this thing is really ticking me off. So, for starters, the sales process was rocky at W.P. Lincoln where it was bought. They needed a week for pick up after a deposit was left to replace a damaged rocker panel. Well, It was "being taken care of" and I happily picked the car up with around 14,200 miles on it. And the damaged rocker panel.....ok, so what exactly did you need a week for again? Whatever, I got an IOU filled out, they will fix it. Drivers side massage seat didn't ever work so far, said they would fix it before delivery....nada. whatever. It's a CPO, got a nice warranty, right? Take it home and schedule an April 4th service appt. On March 20th, a message kept comin up about "shift systen fault" coupled with occasional hard shifts. Dropped car off a few days later on an "emergency drop off". Dealer paid for crappy economic rentals. Whatever, it's a car to drive, that's fine with me! One week....two weeks....three weeks, finally call them. Said a leaky seal somewhere in transmission (boy, love power train issues at 18k miles) so they took it to a 3rd party shop to fix. When I got the car back, today, almost 1 month later, that was the only issue fixed. Massage seat? "Oh yea, seat is fixed, just waiting to get transmission fixed"....."ordered the switch, gonna put it in!".........seat was not fixed. "We will call you when parts get here." Didnt lube the sunroof track like i asked. Okaaayyyy....cool. take delivery on my car back finally today.....and it drives like absolute SH!T. bumpy ride, constant shaking from tires (I had a rotation done as well as oil change.) Before I left the dealer they told me, "Hey, you need new tires." ______Hold up-------the car has been driven for a month since purchase, is less than 1 year old, has 18k on it.........NEW TIRES? Turns out the tread is VERY bad. I think two tires had 7/32 depth, and the front tires (Idk if they were the fron tires before or after rotation) have 6/32 on the pass side and 3/32 on left side. Why is there such uneven tread wear? Upon looking at ties I found the middle of the F/L tire is at the wear indicator.....wth? Why is it worn so badly? Checked pressure.and it wasn't overinflation. Okay, so now I need a new set of tires, an alignment, and several other repairs that are not getting taken care of...on a 1 month old car? The car rode fine before I dropped it off. The dealer put over 100 miles on my car since they had it....why??? The shop they brought it to was 0.8 miles from the dealer. Returned with gas light on. So, what do you guys think I can do? Called W.P. LINCOLN and the manager basically told me "so what kid, you want new tires on a used car? Not happenin'." I certainly didn't wear them down this much. The car is a 3.7 AWD so it's not like you can do burnouts with the electronic parkin brake. What do I do? Did I get a lemon? There are various little things that go wrong too, like the blinker ticking changes sound....yes, the "tick tock " changes pitch noticeably, little stuff like that. So here I am stuck with a fairly new (9 months of the dealer driving it plus 1 month of me driving it) that needs new tires, alignment, possible other issues causing the tire problem, a leaky trans, massage seats that will not be fixed.....what do you guys think I should do? I can't stand how bumpy and uneven the ride is even though.there's no pulling, it still feels like garbage Bc of the wear. Any responses appreciated. Thanks,
Tim

Good Luck ......

Call me skeptical. You're on your third Lincoln in 2 years, and you're just 18 years old????

Yes, I love these cars. 1st one was a Black MKX 2011. had it for 9 months before it was totaled in an accident but managed to put on 20k happy miles. Then had a white 2013 MKX for about 4 or 5 months, got kinda bored of it plus it was getting high mileage (I bought it with 20k and traded it with 42k) and now got the MKZ. I just drive too much to keep cars for several years.

Our opinions of "high mileage" differ. My MKZ has 73k on it, and I plan to keep it for about another 30k. I have a pickup that I bought new 14 years ago. It has 190k on the odometer.

If it were me, I'd definitely seek legal counsel. There's a site called http://www.avvo.com listing attorneys by field & professional background. Hope things work out for you!

Unfortunately I hear these types of stories often, in regards how the dealers handle Lincoln customers. While I believe there are many good Lincoln dealers around many more are just as bad. I would say it is more common to hear complaints when the Lincoln dealership is part of a Ford dealership rather than a stand alone Lincoln Dealer. Though I believe that White Plains is a stand alone dealer. Lincoln has a horrible network of dealers and that more then their vehicles has hurt the brand from a sales perspective. This horrible service plus the bad reliability issues has almost killed the brand and I believe Ford has given up on the brand and is allowing it to kill itself.
