Disable auto start/stop?

Quick question for all. Has anyone determined the desire to disable the auto start/stop feature? For example, if it annoys you and you have to manually turn it off each time you're driving the car, then it would be nice to know a way to disable it. I have a Jag F type R that has the feature, and there's a way to disable it by disconnecting the auxiliary battery connection in the trunk. Then it won't auto default on (and you'd have to reconnect to enable on).

Living here in SE Florida with the humidity and 90 degree summer weather leads me to believe the AC will be just a wee bit challenged - as such, we leave it off in our cars that have the feature.

What's everyone's experience here? The feature is annoying? The feature is seamless and don't even notice it?

Please don't cancel culture us on how green you think I am or am not!

I believe the answer is no. If you have a trailer hitch, try toggling the trailer/tow function. I had a 2020 and the ASS wasn’t working. Dealer kept telling me it was because the trailer tow was on. Funny thing was I didn’t turn it on.

There is already a thread on this topic. Can’t turn off the auto start/stop feature?
If A/C is required, the Automatic Stop/Start (ASS) system should not engage. As I've mentioned before, I believe the last time mine actually came on was about 4 months ago. Even when it did come ON, I didn't find it annoying. In fact, there were times I didn't notice it working.

Thanks, Peter. Funny - I searched on start/stop (no hit). Didn't think to search on the reverse.
I just tried using just "start/stop" and the same linked thread came up.;)

Good afternoon all,
New to Lincoln and new to the owner's forum. Just purchased a 22' Nautilus Reserve and wondering if anyone knows a way to disengage the auto start/stop feature permanently or at least not have to redo it on every start up?

I’ve found in all Lincoln’s the shutoff is a sensor in the brake pedal.
When you come to a complete stop lighten up the pressure on the pedal just a tad to keep it from moving forward. This will prevent it from turning off. After a few days of doing this you’ll train yourself and not really notice doing it. It’s how I do it in my F150 and tell others to do it.
Turning on auto hold and using it I believe will also disable it, but I’m not sure.

They do make devices that plug into trailer outlet fooling car into thinking one is hooked up but you have to leave it in.

Other than that I do not know a way to permanently disable it?

Apparently you can do it with FORScan, at least in the Explorer.

A couple techs have told me that program or app whatever it is leaves traces and can be used against you in the event of a desired warranty claim. Only repeating what I’ve heard.

Hello, I have a 2022 Reserve with 12K trouble free miles. I live in Houston, Tx and upgraded from a Kia Sorento with 110K mi. at retirement. Regarding the auto start/stop, I had usual questions about reliability and cooling. I also had concerns about starter and battery wear. I read a fantastic article about how the tech is mature on these systems and the engine will cut on in traffic at stop if required to facilitate cooling. Temp never varies.
apologize for not having the link. Everything considered, I've decided to operate this vehicle the way they intended instead of challenging this stuff, and it has yet to fail me on Houston freeways. I did bypass it to update the maps USB method. Good Luck

Somewhere on here people have purchased a device that does it. Simple to do you can read about it here. Better than touching anything in forescan. Yes they can always tell that you’ve gone in and touched settings in there

I believe that. Many other 'mods' can be traced as well even if returned to OEM setup. My feature seldom cuts in and I believe it is due to the limited driving I do which in turn probably keeps the battery from having a full charge.

Try what I said for a few days. You will quickly brain train yourself and wind up doing it without thought after a bit. It’ll never turn off again.

I’ve gotten into the habit of turning it off when I start the car.
