Sure. BTW you have a 1977 Versailles. 1977 was the first year Versailles was manufactured.
The F at the front is not part of the official
VIN. That F is cursive and in a different font than the serial number. Just an official marking of Ford. And technically it was called a serial number back then not a
VIN.
7W84H815131
7 = the year. This is a 1977 Versailles
W = is the assembly plant. Wayne as in Wayne Michigan. (All Versailles were either built at Wayne or Mahwah as in Mahwah, NJ)
84 = is the body. All Versailles are the same, 4 door sedan
H = the engine. 351 (The other engine choice was a 302)
815131 is the consecutive unit number. In this case it was 15131 unit built
1977 model year was the first. Sold about 15,000 copies. Second best sales year. But not enough sales to come anywhere close to the competition
Cadillac Seville.
Cadillac Seville sold 45,000 in 1977, 57000 in 1978 and 53,000 in 1979.
There was a lot to like in Versailles. There was also a lot to not like in Versailles.
