Could be buying a 2022 Corsair Grand Touring Tomorrow...Should I?

1. The vehicle makes a "whining" noise at low speeds under 23 MPH. Sounds like it might be the electric motor. It's very audible in the cabin but disappears once you go up to a higher speed.
That is by design - a safety feature to alert pedestrians of your presence (since the electric motor is so quiet). The Lincoln's whine is far less shrill than Toyota.

only the top half of the wheel and not the entire, or so it seems.
I've noticed on mine the lower half heats slower, but gets there.

Happy Motoring!

So, some first full-day thoughts on the new Corsair GT...

I like it. Not sure I love it yet.

2. The cabin is not as quiet as my 2019 MKZ was. At highway speeds, it seems there is more noise in the cabin than I would prefer. I have the larger 20" wheels and I wonder if that or the fact this is an SUV is contributing to that factor.

3. Seats get plenty hot which is nice. Heated steering, however, is only the top half of the wheel and not the entire, or so it seems.

4. Revel audio system sounds very good, but like my 2019 MKZ, it has harshness in the treble and the bass could be more "boomy." Still, it's a cut above what you get in most vehicles.
I love it!! Congrats.

I have the 19" wheels. the 20s were okay, but the 19s ride like my MKZ.
Yes that is the "spaceship" sound lol. Might be worse with the bigger tires. Not worse than my MKZ Hybrid.
YES Lord the heated seats!! Definitely an upgrade.
I found that when I listened to REAL music, its much better than just jazz. I think the challenge is its a bigger vehicle so sound reacts differently.

Yeah, the lower half of the wheel does heat but it does take longer.

That noise at low speed is most likely the new law that went into affect on all electric and hybrid vehicles for year 2021 and later years. It is to alert pedestrians of you car approaching near them. I know when I walk my dog, when EV cars come down the street behind me I get surprised as their is no sound to hear them other than tire noise. The Feds implemented the law that requires a loud speak basically under the car to make chirp sound or tire noise sound but it is high pitched when I have heard it lately. Too many people were getting hit by cars because they were too quiet. See this: Electric vehicle warning sounds - Wikipedia
I just wish they would let us change the sounds. I'd love to have various sounds like cow sound, a hyena, swear words, farts, etc. Better than a dull sound like tires on pavement.

That's funny.

I know of the dangers of operating a vehicle that is completely silent.

When I owned my 2019 MKZ hybrid and stopped for gas, the attendants would often just walk in front of my vehicle as I was pulling out because they could not hear it. Very dangerous. I suppose I should be thankful that the situation was remedied.

Anyone know where these pedestrian alert speakers are located? Not looking to disable them completely, just make it so they're not so loud in the cabin.

First time here.

I live in NJ but drove 35 minutes to Staten Island to look at the vehicle. It was the only dealership in a fifty mile radius that had a 2022 Grand Touring.

Really good dealership. Got the vehicle for under the Internet configuration cost. Probably due to my lease return of a 2019 MKZ with only 15,000 miles.

They even threw in all weather floor mats which I asked if they could do.

Very friendly dealership. I would highly recommend them.
Under no circumstances use them for service ! They are the worst of the worst ! I had an MKZ that I would constantly tell them you can’t lift that car without putting blocks or the paws up on the lift. Even telling them they would still crush the bottom rockers. Not once, not twice but three times !!! They had to keep buying new ones have them painted and install them. They ruined the engine from a recall then said they wouldn’t fix it and Lincoln concierge paid out of their pocket to rebuild the engine and transmission. Sad part is if Dana never touched it the car would be fine. I bought ten cars from them until on the eleventh one the sneaky sales manager sold it to a friend or relative. I can’t tell you how many times I brought a car in for warranty work and they broke something else. They leave license plate screws all over the lot and many cars get flats because of it. These people would screw up a Chinese fire drill !!! Don’t even go there for an oil change !! If you live near freehold go to Irwin Lincoln. Super friendly, much quieter and top notch techs ! I drive there a half hour because of this. I would burn my car before bringing it to Dana. The owners think they’re the Sopranos lol. You can get a good deal on buying or leasing if you know how to deal with them. There was one sales manager there for years who was stupendous. Juan. He had a falling out with them and left. No one lasts at that place because the owners don’t know how to treat customers no less their workers !

It's an awful dealership. Awful. The fact that Lincoln allows them to stay in business after some of the underhanded stuff they pulled is amazing and speaks volumes about how much the company actually cares.

I walked in that day to buy a vehicle and the manager pulled the salesman away from me to do a floor talk to the staff. It was more of the manager openly yelling to his crew that sales were not what they should be. That was entirely rude and should have awoken me right there this was a place that didn't give a crap about the customer.

They raked me over the coals on my purchase of a '22 GT. I didn't pay attention to the specifics at first because they actually came in lower in payments than their online calculator. I figured I was getting a great deal.

It wasn't until I got home and started combing through the invoice that I noticed all these extra services thrown in (with hefty charges) that I was never told about. When I confronted them on the phone, I got the Mafia attitude that I made an agreement and they will do nothing to amend it.

No problem. I got corporate involved real quick. I had the email addresses of the regional manager and most of the Executive team at Lincoln. In the end, I was refunded and received a half-hearted apology from the manager of that dealership. I walked away with a refund, some Lincoln accessories for my vehicle, and an extended warranty gratis.

There's a lot more to this that I can't say. However, there is at least one report on Google of bad reviews being removed in exchange for compensation from the dealership. Let's just say, it has a familiar ring to it.

Mike Riccardone was the sales manager that sold the car out from under me. They should get rid of him and bring back Juan. The used car guy Mike was giving me a CPO with I forget 2 or 3 k off the price because of the trouble I had with the MKZ. They don’t budge on CPO. So I’m guessing Mike called family or friend because it was a good deal. When I exploded and rightfully so I was buying it for a fiancé at the time and she was dreaming all weekend about the car only to find out Monday they screwed me they said don’t come in here ever again or we will call the cops. Is that how you treat a customer who bought ten cars from you ? Instead of calling the other customer and saying the car was sold they said it’s done and we will find another one. When ? The poor girl was waiting. I found one at performance ford / Lincoln in Randolph and it ended up being a better one. They hire high school kids for sales people who simply interface between the sales manager and the customer when it’s the sales manager that dictates all. They should hire adults. Maybe even retired people who know how to treat people and do the right thing. There’s even a finance guy there who’s name is Frank Sinatra lol. They used to be good. When they expanded is when they went down hill. It’s all about the numbers, the money and who they can screw to make up for the people that actually get a fair deal !

Just about every Lincoln you see on Staten Island says Dana on the back. I am proud to be flying the Irwin flag on the back of my car ! Corsairs……every other car on the island is one and they all have the white one like me lol 😠

I tore off my decal with their name on it, but sadly over a year later, I have yet to remove their license plate cover as I was too lazy to find another. I am going to do that today.

I am just saddened that Lincoln doesn't do anything about this dealership knowing their history of ripping off customers.

Its a good thing that I don't live anywhere near that dealership!

I’ve told Lincoln about them. They sell cars so Lincoln doesn’t seemed concerned. Bright side ….I found Irwin. I actually enjoy the ride there. I always bring a dozen donuts for the staff. I get one though with the free coffee lol

In Freehold? About 20 minutes from me.

Hi NJRonbo. If you are looking for a nice license plate frame/cover, I can recommend the WeatherTech ClearCover model. ;)
As you will see in the above link, they have many other models, styles, colors, steel, billet aluminum etc.

I have the ClearCover model, in black, on both of my MKZ's.

Good luck.

Yeah, probably best to go with WeatherTech.

The problem with them is that their stuff is so overpriced.

Yes, they make quality stuff. And, driving a luxury vehicle, perhaps I shouldn't complain that I can get two license covers on Amazon for the price of what WeatherTech is selling for one.

But, I bet the WeatherTech plates look awesome so I'll probably bite on those.

Thanks for the recommendation.
