Corsair Ambient Lighting

My wife is pissed about this and says the picture as distributed by Lincoln is false and misleading - mark my word she will get this fixed (don't underestimate the power of a woman lol).

In our vehicle, there are no ambient lights left of the infotainment screen on the dash and the ambient light right of the infotainment screen is on the bottom of the wood trim, not on top as pictured:

How pissed off is she? Wanting to speak to the manager? Her name isn’t Karen is it? (kidding!)

Seriously, maybe Lincoln changed the ambient light setup and the photo only shows an example? I’m sure Lincoln has a disclaimer somewhere that says they are free to make changes to the vehicle systems without notifying anyone. Or maybe yours is just broken and they have to tear up the entire dashboard to fix it? What then? If it’s that, I would just live with it.

We're going to have it checked out - no doubt Lincoln (or any manufacturer for that matter) can change features or specs at any time and I did explain to her the possible ramifications if the dash has to be disassembled and reassembled to fix the issue, if an issue truly exists. Maybe if some folks can posts pics from their 2022 Corsair Reserve dashboards with wood trim showing the ambient lighting that would be very helpful before moving forward in this process.

ambient lighting under the wood part is dim on mine even on the highest setting, but bright in other parts. I'll post pics later

The ambient lighting on our ‘22 Reserve Sport Pkg definitely dims. I will say it’s not all that bright shining on the wood grain. I took some pics tonight at various brightness levels, and the first thing I’ll say is that it shows up WAY brighter in the pics than it really looks. First pic is of red on highest brightness, 2nd pic is dimmed to mid-range (as you can see by the red slider position on the display screen).

These pics are VERY helpful and thank you for posting them! Now I know that the sliders should control the lighting intensity and that is not occurring in my 2022 Corsair Reserve or 2020 Nautilus Reserve. IMHO this is pointing towards a software issue with Sync 3. I could also see left of the infotainment screen there aren't any lights, is that all the way towards the left door as well? Thanks.

On my GT, they dont in that menu. The only change to brightness is the button set to nearer to the fuel release.

That's the trick - reducing or raising the overall lighting level does reduce or increase the ambient lighting. The ambient lighting isn't as bright as I'd (or my wife) likes and I'm wondering if there's any ambient lighting near the driver instrument cluster area (we don't see any on the Corsair even though there is on the Nautilus.)

Reducing overall lighting doesnt effect ambient lighting

Whatsupdoc, how did things go with your wife's car, was the dealer able to fix the lights? I just picked up my 2022 Corsair GT yesterday and there is zero light coming from the dashboard lighting strips so I'm thinking I may have to call the dealer.

I haven't spoken with them since but the Mrs. has resigned herself to how it is. When it goes in for routine service I can ask them again.

Keep us updated as I would like to have it brighter when needed. It's too low compared to my previous 2016 Fusion Titanium Hybrid.

So I am considering buying a 2021 Lincoln Corsair (currently own a 2015 MKC) and noticed the ambient lights were very dim vs. my MKC - and was very disappointed with the light low intensity and it seemed to me they did not adjust in brightness at all.

Whatever came of this thread - was the dealer able to fix it. I'd like it a requirement that it gets looked at before I buy it!

Hi dblikesvikes and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. The intensity/brightness is adjustable in the SYNC 3 Ambient Light settings. If the adjustment is not working in that particular vehicle, there is a problem.

Out of curiosity, were you looking at them at night or during the day?

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Hi BBF2530 - I was driving it at night and we could barely see the red stripe of light on the front dash and basically everywhere it was really dim vs. my MKC - that's one of the things I love with my MKC - is the cool lighting at night. I was driving the ebony and cashew interior (black and deep tan interior).

Hi db. Did you go into the Ambient Lighting settings and try to turn it up?

Good luck

I have a 22 Gt with the ebony/cashew interior and the lighting is pretty dim. Have played with the adjustments and different colors. I don't think that I would want it any brighter.

Hi gang. It is impossible to determine over the Internet whether the Ambient lighting feature in any one particular vehicle is too dim/not operating correctly, or if it is working correctly. However, the Ambient Lighting feature is not supposed to be bright. If it was, it would cause reflection problems and visibility issues with seeing out of the vehicle at night.

Also, we can not compare the illumination seen in marketing/advertising photos with real life.

I was in the 2022 Audi A4 S-Line the other night. His ambient lighting, set to full brightness, was no brighter than my 2018 MKZ. Yes, i realize my MKZ is not a Corsair, but I am only giving an example.

However, again...it is not supposed to be bright. It is only accent lighting.

And as usual, I am not minimizing the concerns of anyone. Only pointing out that it is possible, in some cases, that we are expecting something brighter than what is possible for night driving.

For those who think there is a problem, have it looked at by your Lincoln Dealer. If still not satisfied, try another Dealership and/or Lincoln Concierge.

Keep us updated and good luck.
