My Lincoln
2006 Town Car Signature Limited
My 2006 Town Car has never had the coolant changed (at least according to the original owner). Has 68K miles and kept in immaculate condition otherwise. I realize a complete drain & flush is likely in order but would like to drain just enough to add a gallon of Zerex G05 50/50 (meets Ford Spec # exactly) for the time being just to 'refresh' what's in it now. Is this advisable and how should I prevent creating any 'air pockets' in the process?

Hi SSGraham and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. Adding a gallon of new coolant will do little to nothing to “refresh” what is already in the system. You would essentially be wasting the money you paid for the gallon.

In my opinion, the best course of action would be to have the system properly flushed and refilled as soon as possible, since it seems to be well past due.

I’m sure others will jump in with more advice, so let us know how you make out and good luck.

It can be done and whey are you delaying this over due service?
