When you first turn on your headlights (in the dark), HID's will give a very brief, very bright flash that halogens don't do. If your headlights are pointed at something close like a garage door, it should be noticeable.

Can anybody tell from this picture if I have Halogens or HID’s?

Hi Rufuscah and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. You stated in your other thread that you recently installed new halogen bulbs. If the bulbs fit in the housing, the plugs fit on the back of the bulbs and they lit up, then you have halogen headlights.

Good luck.

The picture is too far away to make a visual. (at least for me) And you did not give model year.
Only the model years 2003 and later had the optional HID headlamps.

It’s a 2009 Town Car. Also I replaced the both headlights and not just the bulbs

I quoted a post that had a picture of a LS (Post #20)

If you replaced the light assembly, you should know the answer to the question.
You added the ballast with it, correct?

On edit, my mistake on the model. My suggestion when adding an attachment, go the extra step and after the picture is loaded, click in the upper left corner of the picture for "Full Image"

They all look the same as the housing outwardly is the same. Run your vin at a Ford dealer or get your window sticker. That will tell you. Also how they look at night will tell you too.

Unless someone removed it the HID's have a sticker that says, HID, on the top of the housing. Visible under the plastic panel that crosses the front top of the core support. Whatever the cost, the HID's are worth it. They are quite good.
