My Lincoln
2024 Nautilus Reserve II Hybrid Jet Appearance
I run CarPlay and I am running the latest iOS. Every time Siri makes an announcement or dings with an alert) the volume comes in at 7 or 8. As Sir speaks I turn the volume down to 4. Then with the next alert it is back at 8. This is too loud for me. I tried the notification settings but nothing seems to fix this. My prior auto, 2020 Explorer ST did not act this way. If I changed the volume my setting was persistent.

I have a 2024 Nautilus Reserve 2 and I am up to date on all updates and recalls, except the pedestrian alert recall.

Does anyone else have this issue and has anyone else found a fix.

This is killing me. Please share

Thank you

@Blitz - YES, same lack of notification volume memory across the board - aka.... not just Siri, but also all 3 of the mapping apps (running on the iphone native). We have the same Hybrid 24 R II (no Jet) with all the current updates/code fixes. our 2022 Lincoln Nautilus would always remember any volume changes/settings, as long as you made the adjustment when the notification was actively speaking. Weirdly, most all of these minor fixes has taken extremely elongated resolve times.

Just as JMAB mentioned, the problem is all over the place. The minimum volume cannot be below 7. If you make it higher, that will be saved, so the problem is not the saving, it's the limitation of 7 as the lowest value. You can see the same thing in the seetings, 7 is the loweest value for messages.
Dealer told me they escalated the problem, but we need as many dealers as possible to escalate to hope for a fix some day...

thank you and thank you @JMAB . unacceptable behavior from Ford/Lincoln. This design is now 2 years old.

Anybody has a direct email / contact form to send this kind of question to Lincoln?

The bug is so simple to fix (just allow volume to get down lower than 7...) I would like to be able to open a ticket directly as the dealer does not seem to fully understand how bad this thing is. I wish I could use the built in Google Maps or Waze, but it is so loud that it can't be used safely.

The Google Maps navigation volume should be adjustable now (if you have latest software updates), with the adjusted (e.g., decreased) volume then being used going forward (for future navigation prompts/directions). We had the problem with it not persisting (saving) the changed volume from purchase in June until fairly recently.

Key is making the adjustment while it is actively doing something (speaking). It's been a while since I tested it, but IIRC you can have it sitting in Park, do a series of "Hey Google, navigate to name_a_place_or_address" commands, make the volume adjustment when it responds back that it's navigating to that place.

(I absolutely agree that the default volume was, for me, obnoxiously loud. As the issue was 100% reproducible my dealer opened a TAC case with FoMoCo, though it cleared itself before I bothered to go in and follow up; probably one of the software updates fixed something that had been messed-up in my vehicle's firmware. There might be a minimum level it'll actually save/persist, but it's a lot lower than the default.)

@markfm thanks but this doesn’t help at all for Apple CarPlay. It’s just not important to Lincoln. This is obvious.

Yes, both Apple CarPlay and integrated maps have the issue. At least, Waze on CarPlay allows to lower indications volume within the app, so it’s less annoying. But, only for that app of course.

So, adjusting volume while indications are being pronounced works, but sticks only for values 7 and above. You can clearly see this in volume configuration.

So, still the same question: anybody has a direct email or form that can be used to reach the right department?
