We want to flat tow our 2020 Navi L behind our motorhome. It isn't the slow climb version. Can we have the transfer case changed to the 2 speed Transfer Case to allow flat towing?

If it is possible to change and I would guess it would be very expensive and time consuming, the electronics may not support the change.

On page 335 of the owners manual there is a procedure to do to set the vehicle up to do this.
You know when you have done it correctly because the information display shows Neutral Tow Enabled Leave Transmission in Neutral.
With the other transfer case the electronics may not be there to make the display read that message.
If you do not get that message, there is no way to know if the procedure was done correctly or not.
Not done correctly, damage will occur.

If you get someone to post here that has actually done this I would be surprised and pleased that the info is available. I would consider it a rare event.
Otherwise you are doing the modification to be the beta test.

Have no clue as to the cost. I assume you would be having the done and paying the labor to do it. A quote for labor would have to be opened ended because it is a custom modification. Unknown things may have to be done going into that kind of job.
As to parts, finding an entire "totaled" donor vehicle would be the best approach to get all parts including some parts that may not be known that are needed. It will NOT be as easy as just changing transfer cases.
Drive lines will be different, electronics will be different, attaching things will be different and a host of other parts will be different.

Are the axles compatible?
Is the transmission tail piece compatible? What about the transmission tail shaft?
Are the mountings the same?
Linkage, sensors, wiring and ......
What else is unknown? Exhaust?

Don't know for sure and I believe this would be a significant and expensive modification to accomplish that goal. And know it is just a guess.

Seems like a nice trailer is the answer.

Would be an interesting tow.

6000 pounds of Navigator and maybe 2000 pounds of trailer.
I tow a 7500 pound boat and trailer from time to time. Nice would not be the first word descriptor I would use,

I would assume if this is a class A on a bus chassis and the trailer had electric brakes it wouldn’t be a big ask.

The options we're considering are a trailer for our Mustang instead which we've done in the past. (under 7,000#) A trailer for the Navi would likely be rated at 10K. We have all the brand new 10K Blue Ox and Brake system so considering either selling that or buying a "valid" TOAD. Unfortunately, the Mustang trailer needs a removable left fender for driver access. (PITA) We modified the recent trailer we sold. Lincoln Service has told us the conversion isn't possible at all. Thanks for your inputs. Some hard ($$$) decisions to make.

The Lincoln Dealership Service department would incur way more liability than it is comfortable with in doing that kind of work. (Vehicle modification)
The job is possible. Very possible given enough time and money. Yeah, lots of money.
Which goes to most jobs, they are possible. The better question is it economically possible? Or does it make economic sense?

However, there are other solutions as you noted above.
And/or a 10K rated trailer that has a tilt bed so there is no door to fender interference

Good luck on your solution.
