My Lincoln
2004 Town Car
I just found a great fix for the side console door latch on EBAY-- these are being remanufactured in Florida by a guy in Lakeland!! Both side on my 2004 Town Car were broken and were a pain to deal with for years!! I got two of them for $120- Sounds high --but the original parts from Lincoln were over $100--and they do not make them anymore!! Here is the title to find them on Ebay-- 1677523886359.webp

Shooweeee! Thats a lot of money for two pieces of plastic..lol...I solved mine by removing the spring so I could just lift and lower without having to push the button.

9w1z-54645a04-ab were about 30 bucks a piece new when they were available, they may be NLA forever or they may pop back up one day.
I have a pair hanging on my wall in the baggies for that special day. Although I've found I practically never use that storage box. I think if I did
I'd fit magnets to it to keep it closed.

I was getting more than that for used ones pretty regular on ebay, when the new ones were still readily available, when I still had the gumption to junkyard hunting. Someone published files for 3d printing a little piece to make them work even after they break in typical fashion too.

Can you point me to the 3D printing info?

Here is how I did

Got it...and 3D parts are ordered!! While I don't know 3D printing the first thing I thought when I saw it years ago is that this will eventually be a boon to car enthusiast trying to keep old iron on the road.

Thanks!!

Does anyone know where to find the spring, and retainer clip that goes behind this latch?
