BlueCruise upgrde

Perhaps the OP is so enthralled with the upgraded blue cruiser version, they forgot to report back to the rest of us.

So did it turn out this is too big of an update to install over the air? Did you have to go tot the dealer to have it installed?
OK, I did not lie, but I did not tell the truth. My dealer delivered it back stating I have the 1.3 upgrade. The next day I headed to Dallas, Texas and found that the upgrade was not there. I took it to the largest Lincoln dealership in the country on Saturday and they determined that I did not have the 1.3 upgrade. Now LINCOLN is telling me that I have 1.0 and that is all that’s available. I now have no more hair. It has all been pulled out. I am not back Home yet, but will be at my dealers doorstep, not a happy camper. Sorry for the missed direction.

Was the end result worth the hair pulling and misinformation?
Since I did not receive the upgrade, they stated they had installed, I guess I would say at this point that I, and the horse I wrote in on are both not in a happy place.

I’m sorry, I am traveling and just now got back to the forum. Please see above responses. I’ll do better at updating after I get in my dealers face.
By the way, what does OP stand for?

Hi Sticster. On an Internet forum, OP usually refers to the “Original Poster”, or something similar to that.
In other words, the member/person who started a thread. So that would be the first person on page 1 of a thread.
In this case, the OP is “sadie1”.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

It’s all good! As Navi owners, we’re here for you. If I were in your shoes, I’d either let it go or ask that your Blue Cruise be recalibrated. As I mentioned earlier, I find it incredibly convenient and useful. Sure, it may bark at you if the sun is in your eyes, but apart from that, it’s been fantastic. This isn’t my first vehicle with autonomous driving, but the Volvo, Audi, and this Navi are among the best.

Thanks. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a BIG fan of BlueCruise. Got about 5K miles using it. My problem is I trained Dale Carnegie for 34 years and the tactics used by Lincoln are pretty much egregious and rub me wrong. Here we go:

* (SALES - Delivery walk thru) As long as you are “subscribed” to BlueCruse, you will receive the OTA upgrades and all the features.

* (CONNECTED SERVICES - One week post delivery). You will absolutely receive the 1.3/1.4 versions. We just can’t quote the time frame.
* (CONCIERGE REP) We had bluecruse training recently and asked training management how we could be expected to support owners of our flagship vehicle who were faced with no upgrade path from version 1.0, while vehicles at half the investment are enjoying the increased safety of versions 1.3/1.4. We were told explicitly that 2024 Navigator 1.0 owners WILL RECEIVE THE UPGRADE, ota . They just could not specify WHEN.

Later in the conversation, this same rep became aware that my vehicle was at the dealer’s location getting some warranty repairs done. She exclaimed “If it’s in the shop now, why don’t you get them to do the 1.3 update manually, instead of ota? She opened a case, and sent dealer message that they SHOULD do the upgrade and if they had any challenge whatsoever, to contact them on the dealer support channel and the engineers would walk them through it.

Dealer agreed to do the update and confirmed, with voicemail AND in writing that they would complete the upgrade to “1.3”. I have copies of both.

I picked up the vehicle when they confirmed the repairs to starter, battery, AND UPGRADE TO 1.3 was completed.

The 1.3 upgrade was not done.

Both Dallas and Houston Lincoln dealers (SERVICE DEPARTMENTS) have confirmed that I am pretty much Charlie Brown, kicking at that same old illusive football.

*******
I’m going to the dealer tomorrow. Bought my first vehicle from them in 1973. (51 years ago). I’m confident they will have an explanation for telling me the pre-sales stories, and sending me away, asking for 5’s on surveys, claiming to have me upgraded to 1.3.

Should the meeting tomorrow not solve this situation, I guess it’s good that I’m retired, passionate, and have a couple of nickels in the piggy bank.

Damn, I hate L O N G texts.

I drove 11 hours with Blue Cruise active 90% of the time. It performed flawlessly!!

How did you confirm your current version number? I’m curious to see if you actually receive assisted lane change.
As I understand it, you go into features, you should find “lane change assist” as an option to toggle.

So did it turn out this is too big of an update to install over the air? Did you have to go tot the dealer to have it installed?
See below. They didn’t actually install it.

I enjoyed your email! and see why you would be frustrated. I haven't heard it yet but I am sure it is coming from Lincoln, the Service Department, or both......."Your hardware doesn't allow the upgrading of Blue Cruise beyond 1.0."

I’m really not sure what my reaction would be if that were their attitude. My reaction would be totally legal, but not very pleasant for any of the participants. They plan on selling 2024 navigators until at least February of next year. I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt until Thursday close of business. That’s when I have the second meeting with my dealership I’ll post the results.

Phone call on 12/18/2024.
11:38am
Duration: 45 minutes/13 seconds

I have the 45 minute conversation transcribed, but am only including a few snips.

“Good afternoon. Thank you for calling the Lincoln Vehicle Technology Team. My name is ******.

Three comments from *****:

1. “Every Ford Lincoln customer that has the OTA updates and that has a blue cruse subscription is going to receive the updates. It is unfortunate, but I don't know exactly when it's going to happen, but I do know that it will happen.”

2. “You are a Ford/Lincoln customer. You have a 2024 vehicle. You have a blue cruise subscription. There's no reason why you wouldn't receive the update. It just hasn't gotten to your place in line yet.”

3. “I know you will receive the update. I just can't tell you when.”

***** agreed to contact her senior mgmt team and request written confirmation of her promises.

Those of us with 2022s ought to be in line first.

Was at the dealer today and asked for a Blue Cruise update for my 2022L BL. Response nothing available. In July they are going to ask me to pay to use the tech already paid for.... No Upgrade - No Money.

I have a 2018 tesla and it is still receiving monthly autopilot updates to this day. New features, functionality and enhancements. All for free. There should not be any reason for a car to be upgraded at the dealer in 2025 nor should updates be so behind like these new ford and lincolns..

I have a 2024 Navi as well, bought in December of 2024. Sales rep stated my Lincoln Cruise will do all the lanes changes and whatnot... I said cool, I'd expect that on a 100k+ flagship vehicle. I find out a week or two later that all Navi's are shipped with 1.0 currently... even though 1.4/5 exist on other models. I take mine into service and ask for the upgrade which they said yes we can. When I pick up the vehicle my SA told me that Bluecruise has been updated... however on my service receipt it states that "the most up to date version of BC is already installed." So yea I am not happy about that.

Yes I've seen the press releases that at some point 2024's will get an OTA since the 25s are hitting lots with 1.4 installed from the factory. Based on what the internet says I shouldn't hold my breath. Meanwhile, I test drove a Yukon and Escalade and GM's Supercruise is miles ahead... Ford needs to step up.

Those of us with 2022 models and still on 1.0 should be ahead of everyone else.

Logically one would think so, but will they employ any logic?
Doubtful at this point that any of us with 2022-2024 year models will see any updates to this.
