Hello forum members, I have a trailer with 7 pin plug. When connected, the left right and brake lights do work as expected however I could not get the running lights to work. I have tried to check when it's dark outside and the Headlamps come on the car and also by manually selecting the lights on mode from the selector knob on the left side of the steering. The trailer do get detected when I plug ot in though.
Things I have tried:
> Since I have a 12v battery in the trailer, it does get charged when the trailer is hooked up to the aviator.
> If I short the 12v aux to the Tail/Running light on the trailer's 7 pin connector while it is disconnected from the aviator, they work fine which, to my understanding, means that the trailer sode wiring is working as expected.
> I had all incandescent bulbs in the running/marker lighs which I thought wereaybe drawing too much current and aviator was somehow not able to provide it causing this issue so I replaced all with LED bulbs. Which do light up if I short the 12v and the tail light connector on the 7pin plug. But it still didnt work when connected to aviator.
> On the display screen, if I switch to the "Trailer light check" info screen, it shows all lights lit up when the trailer is connected.
> I have checked the fuse box and tested the fuse number 55 (Trailer tow park lamps) and fuse number 91 (Trailer tow lighting module) and they are both fine.
I am out of ideas to check this further. Please share your experiences if the trailer running lights need a special switch or setting to turn on or something else that I missed to test. TIA
