Was wondering what the sequence of events needed to be in order for the exterior mirrors to auto unfold. On my 23 Aviator the mirrors will unfold once vehicle is unlocked and any door is opened. I thought this was the norm for all Lincolns. However just recently purchased a 23 Nautilus and the sequence for the mirrors to unfold is somewhat different. On the Nautilus once the vehicle is unlocked the mirrors will unfold only when the driver door is opened and then closed again. According to everything I have read online the Nautilus follows this procedure. Is my Aviator an anomaly? Or do all Aviators unfold the mirrors once and door is opened

My 2020 Aviator mirrors unfolded as your Nautilus does when purchased. Had a door latch problem and the DDM (driver's door module) was replaced. Now they all unfold when any door opens. In theory there is a software setting for the DDM and PDM named 'Lincoln Experience' that enables the driver's door only opening. Using ForScan I have tried to get back to the factory mirror sequence but no luck. Setting is enabled according to the reader but not working. There may be an additional setting necessary I haven't figured out. You might see if Lincoln can reset your Aviator's software to the proper 'Lincoln Experience'. Mine's out of warranty so it's not worth the expense to fix it though the factory for me.

Thanks for the response. I have already checked Forscan and disabled and enabled the Lincoln Style selection on both DDM and PDM but no luck. If I disable Lincoln style setting the mirrors unfold as soon as I unlock the door. When did you have to have your DDM replaced. I bet they made a change to the firmware on later builds however I would have thought that when they replaced your DDM they would have loaded the As Built Firmware

Late last year. Still under warranty at the time. Have whined to the dealer to no avail. They seem not to have much knowledge of the programming. Thet have no clue of the programming parameters. The as built codes match what Forscan is reading.

After I read your post this morning I went in and searched for a 2020 Aviator for sale online to obtain the VIN number. I then went to motorcraft service website and pulled the as built data for the DDM on the 2020 and compared to my 2023 DDM as built data. All 100 parameters were the same except for one. I went to my 2023 and changed the one parameter that was different to what was on the 2020 and it still did not fix the issue. The only thing I can think of now is that it is a firmware difference

Pull the as built codes for the Nautilus and see if there's a difference. Hard for me to believe there's a massive difference to the Aviator unless the seat controls are on the seat in the Nautilus. Then they're probably quite different. I drove a 2025 Nautilus loaner for about a week. Loved the dash. Blue Cruise scared the bejeezus out of me but was starting to get used to it. Can't remember where the seat controls were. Did miss the Aviator though. Hopefully somebody will more knowledge than me has an answer. Curious minds would like to know.

I compared with Nautilus last weekend. Were completely different. Nautilus had about 30 something parameters where as Aviator has 100. Only thing I can think of is the seat control and elatch door opener on the Aviator. If I get brave I might try and flash down the firmware on the DDM
