I mostly keep the audio source in my 2021 Aviator to USB and listen to songs that are on a memory stick. The problem is that next time the car is driven the audio source sometimes has changed to radio and I have to put it back to USB. Are there any known issues of this type? I feel that it should stay on the USB unless I change it.

Does the owners manual provide any guidance?

Hi Hrdnox. Yes, it should stay on the chosen audio source. I would bring your concern to the attention of the Service Department..either now, if you feel it is important enough, or when you schedule your next routine maintenance visit.

I will add: While it should stay on the chosen source, it is not entirely unusual for it to change like you are experiencing (rarely/not often though). This will also occur with my 2018 MKZ. Very periodically. Not sure why, possibly during times when the battery is not being regularly recharged by driving, like in the current pandemic situation for many drivers? Just a guess.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

What I sometimes experience is that after I start the vehicle, I'm getting a message that the USB is not available/not recognized. I would assume the reason for that might be the size and number of tracks. When that happens, the audio switches to radio since the source it is supposed to play is not available. The moment it switches to radio is just a second before it recognizes the USB again so you can switch right back.
