Apple Carplay question.

Is it an app that I can download to my iphone 12 or a dongle that I can buy or just work when I connect my phone with cord to the USB slot?
Used it hard wired a bit.

Hard wired is how Car Play is set up to work with your 2023. You can buy a dongle if you would like to switch it to work wirelessly. I got a decent small one that’s been working well for me off Amazon. Wasn’t super expensive and has gotten the job done nicely.

Hi Instymp. Just to add to Vikingstaff’s reply: Wireless Apple CarPlay was not available from the factory in Lincoln/Ford vehicles until the introduction of SYNC 4.

As you asked about, and Vikingstaff mentioned, there are aftermarket wireless dongles available, which allow wireless Apple CarPlay (and Android Auto).
