My Lincoln
2025 Navigator
Tinted windows during the buying process of 2025 Navigator. Both driver and passenger windows have repeatedly bounced back since pick up. Dealership says no codes but increased resistance on window motor. Saying it is likely the tint causing increased friction. Also say my Navi is first 2025 they’ve seen with tinted front side windows. Anyone else?

I don't have a Nav, but ALL of my vehicles have non-dealer window tint, including my Aviator & Nautilus. I have never had this issue with any of my cars with window tint over 20 years.

Granted, I am no expert on the installation of window tint, but maybe there are different grades of thickness or quality that could be affecting you. It appears that this is dealer installed, correct? I have never had a dealer install mine.

Not dealer but with an outside group the dealer coordinates with. I’ve had all my cars tinted and never had an issue until now. Currently waiting for Ford to advise the dealer. We will see.

Living in Phoenix, I take whatever sun protection measures possible.
Yeah have tint.
Nope, not an issue with window function.

Generally window tinting is about 1 mm thick. Assuming the tinting is fully attached to the glass, (no overhangs) the window operation should not change.
Most of the glass is held in place or slides on the sides. The center horizontal section with weatherstrip is more of a guide.

Suggestions to reduce friction. Use a glass surfactant. (Rain-X or Equivalent) Lubricate the rubber weatherstrips that ride against the glass.

Hi Yonate. Have you tried performing the window bounce back reset procedure outlined in the Owners Manual? If not, give it a try.

I would think the Dealership would have tried this, but don’t want to assume.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Yes. I reset every time. Dealership too

Update. Lincoln had the tech wipe the programming for the window control modules and reinstall. Windows seem to be working now.
Update to the update. No luck. Windows still bouncing. Frustrating.

maybe spray a bit of soapy water on the window and give it a test. if the lubrication helps or resolved the issue then maybe treat the window with some ceramic spray. would have to leave the window cracked a day until it cured though before testing again.
