Google search finds a 2nd option, does not state that this is new:

• Method 2: Press the power button five times
  • As an alternative, you can quickly press the audio system's power button five times in a row to initiate the reboot.

I just did it successfully using 5 quick press-and-releases. I think it must be done within 7 seconds. So quickly.

I tried more than once so likely do not have the software update.

The update process should be as simple as opening the Software Updates app on the infotainment screen and have a selection to install all available OTA updates so it can be on demand as opposed to using Lincoln's logic.

There is no update history except for last update. This process could be done on phone or web too. If there is some queue it would add you to the "requested" queue.

Is there a way to see if the software update is going through like a progress bar? I keep getting the count down but then the app shows the install was interrupted.

Is there a way to see if the software update is going through like a progress bar? I keep getting the count down but then the app shows the install was interrupted.

I’ve watched a couple updates being applied to my car. They were ones that appeared in my car with a notice similar to “will be installed tonight, or you can choose to install now”. Twice I’ve chosen to watch them install. The car screen tell you what to do to initiate the process and tells how long it will take. You turn the car off and exit the car. Then I watched thru the windows and watched the process on the screen. There are multiple sounds made by the car during the entire process. It then starts downloading. When that finishes, the screen then says it is verifying the update. After that’s done, it starts installing and the screen updates to reflect that. It doesn’t show a progress bar anywhere though. I’ve never actually witnessed an “I’m Done” message possibly because I got tired of watching and left. But eventually I get a notice on my phone that the update is done.

That countdown is "get out of the vehicle, close and lock the doors, OR ELSE".
