There are two small led lights at the hatch ( one on the lower right side & one on the inside of the hatch). They don't make it easy to see what's inside your vehicle. I added a nice very discreet strip light that goes around the whole hatch opening.

The only problem was attaching the power to the right side oem light. The dome light uses a three wire (pos, neg, signal). The signal wire senses the hatch opening/ closing, but the amperage is very low. I tried using various relays (one micro solid state very low voltage relay), but nothing would switch it on/off.
I added a mini normally off momentary switch at the hatch strut and now it works great.

I'm trying to upload the short video, but even after resizing, the 9 sec video. From 14k to 7k and I can't find anything way to lower it any further.

Nice! My work around for videos on a pontoon forum has been to upload my video to my YouTube page. Then toss the link into the forum. That way you don’t have to worry about forum file size limits.

That said, neat idea, and even with the picture, that looks nicely done.

Here's a photo of it lit. It doesn't do justice without the video.
