Had our new continental on 401 today while to was snowing. Set the adaptive cruise to 90kmp. All of sudden I got a message on my display that sensors were not working. Adaptive cruise stopped working. Went 80 clicks more and still did not come back on. Car is in the garage and I will check it tomorrow,

Will advise.::confused::

You are not supposed to use cruise when conditions are slippery. Your Conti is probably sensing amiss and is switching itself off. In the winter I don't use cruise control at all. My son's van is not as smart as your conti so he used regular cruise control and had a nasty moment and lucky he did not crash, so now he listens more attentively to dad.

This is what the owner manual says:

USING CRUISE CONTROL
WARNINGS

Do not use cruise control on winding roads, in heavy traffic or when the road surface is slippery. This could result in loss of vehicle control, serious injury or death.

When you are going downhill, your vehicle speed could increase above the set speed. The system does not apply the brakes.

USING ADAPTIVE CRUISE
CONTROL (If Equipped)
WARNINGS
Always pay close attention to changing road conditions when using adaptive cruise control. The system does not replace attentive driving. Failing to pay attention to
the road may result in a crash, serious injury or death.

Do not use the adaptive cruise control when entering or leaving a highway, on roads with intersections or roundabouts or non-vehicular traffic or roads that are winding, slippery, unpaved, or steep slopes.

Good luck.

In addition to what Town said, my adaptive cruise has only failed in heavy rain or snow. Either or both, the sensor (radar) was blocked, or totally confused.
It eventually will come back on, but any snow/ice buildup has to be removed. Stopping, shutting off car, and restarting works the fastest.

when my adaptive cruse control failed in the same manner on my 2014 MKZ, i went into the cruse control settings and turned off adaptive mode saved it (exit) and then went back in and turned adaptive mode on again and it worked fine. I did not have this issue on my conti yet. This would usually happen to me while driving in extreme rainfall on my way to Disney..

Surprising that you cannot just switch off adaptive cruise when conditions are beyond its capability and when conditions return to normal just switch it back on again, and it would work.

You can turn off adaptive cruise and have just cruise and it works and it does not matter the weather. JUST BE CAREFULL

Loving our new lincoln
