No power getting through fuse 23 to power the drivers windows, moonroof, sunshade and other stuff.
I suspect it's a fault with the accessory delay relay which supplies fuse 23. [ see pic ]
Problem is, where is the relay ? it's not listed in the manual as being in either of the fuse boxes.

Jeyaar456,

I looked in my factory wiring diagram manual and found where the Accessory Delay Relay is located - I think.

As per, Page 13-26 Power Distribution/BCM

The Body Control Module is located: Driver side under dash left of steering column.
The Accessory Delay Relay is located in the Body Control Module on its circuit board (non-serviceable). I think that means it is soldered to the circuit board.

There are companies that can replace that relay, but I don't know where they are.

Good Luck,
Richard

Yes I feared it would not be a stand alone component, I shall check it out.

But first I'll reset the BCM back to factory settings using Forscan
and the As-Built data. I should've tried that first before testing fuses and relays.

Thanks.

Forscan Made no difference. Driving around with the door mirrors folded is causing a problem. Need to get power to the switch to unfold them.

I wish I was smart enough to help you.
Good luck,
Richard

Managed to get it to work for a few hours, disconnected the battery for a while then reconnected, took the opportunity to reset the door mirrors, then next morning it reverted back to failed. The battery at overnight rest is only 12.10v, should be nearer 12.60v for a healthy unit, battery is from 2019 so it's over 6 years old.
Work in progress.

If the battery is not healthy or the charging system does not fully charge the battery, this will be an issue when the system decide which accessories to send power to until the system is closer to being fully charged.

While a load test is a better way to determine battery condition, what is the voltage on a warmed up engine at idle?

OK the charging system is working. And at least the battery is good enough to accept the charge.
While your battery may be marginal without the alternator, The vehicle runs on the alternator for the most part after about 5 or 6 minutes from the time the engine is started.

You have a 6 year old battery - great life. But I would put a new battery in that car. Not a Motorcraft battery either.

My 2020 Reserve (30,000 miles) is on its 3rd battery. It seems to need a new battery every 2 or 3 years. Not good in my opinion.
I have gotten up to 10 years on my car batteries in the old days.

It gets better, I connected the new battery via jump leads, and on fitting the positive terminal I heard a few clicks from relays or something, I tightened the post clamp and bazinga, everything seemed to work fine, but then I closed the trunk lid and it didnt work. So I tried refitting the battery clamp spark trick with the trunk closed and then open, seems it only works with the trunk open, but then trunk won't close, either via the button, the remote or the switch on the headlight unit, it just clicks and refuses to move.
So close the trunk lid manually, disconnect the battery, re-connect and we are back to square one, so a victory closely followed by a defeat.

I am impressed by a young You Tuber who does complex diagnostic and auto electrical system fault-finding, nothing seems to faze this guy, I shall engage his services as I'm afeart [ afraid ] that I will do more damage by my inept attempts at trying to fix this problem.

An update, after battery replacement, and removal and inspection of both the top and bottom striker latches, plus the push button on the trunk lid, putting a 15 amp in fuse 23 in the BCM all seems to working, interior lights, sunroof, sunshade, mirrors, drivers window, massage seats. So what caused it ?
I suspect the trunk lid faulted and failed the interior lighting, it closes with quite a bang, it doesn't soft close, after 100s or 1000s of closing it has shorted out the trunk lamps which has told the BCM to fail everything else on fuse 23's circuit, even though no fuses actually blew, don't know, it's a weird one.
Thanks all.
