'22 Aviator Advice - OEM Cargo Mats or WeatherTech?

I just got my 1st Lincoln and loving it so far, but my kids crawl around in it like it's a jungle gym! With summer coming those back seats are gonna be down and it'll be full of sand toys.

Does anyone have the Full OEM Cargo Mats? How does it stick to the back of the 3rd row seats when they're up? Do they actually stay in place?

Anyone use the little "trunk" underneath the cargo tray on the regular? How big of a pain is it to get at with the OEM floor mat?

Are the WeatherTech/Husky? Significantly better or worse?

What color WeatherTech matches the Espresso floor in the Sandstone interior, Cocoa or Tan?

Sorry for a million questions!

I had Weathertech mail color samples so I could choose best color for sandstone interior. COCOA was best match to blend w/darker carpeting. We got 1st & 2nd row floor liners & the cargo liner w/the bumper protector (for use w/3rd row seats reclined). We’re always carrying beach chairs or golf clubs. The roll down bumper protector has been fab & the liners are easy to clean.

You can try looking here to see what others have said. I have a Husky, but not sure the one I have is still available. It allows me to do a split fold of my seats. I posted pictures somewhere in the attached thread.

I am on the hunt for a good rear cargo area mat for my 2020 Aviator GT. Has anyone found any good ones that cover the entire area with the 3rd row down and is split to allow either of the rear seats to be put up without removal? I have found a good number of mats just for the cargo area behind the 3rd row or for the entire area with the 3rd row down but this would require removal every time I wanted to use one of the 3rd row seats.

I have the factory carpet pads for all seating areas. I have nothing other than the OEM carpet back of the rear seat that sticks to the back of said seat when it's in the upright position.

For the rear cargo area (smaller one when the rear seat is up), I paid just over $100 when I ordered the car to get a rear mat (rubber, with texture) in the back. I figured Ford would have the dimensions spot on and that it would be good quality. It was. Would Weathertech have been as good? Likely. But it was too easy to tack it onto my order thinking with high confidence it would be the excellent fit that it was. It is holding up very well.

We use the lower storage areas (if that's what you mean by the ' little "trunk" underneath the cargo tray '). It's not an issue to raise both the cargo mat AND carpet. Note, I also installed a rear net in the back - in the sides at the rear the nubs that the net connect to are just above the 'cargo tray'. You simply have to move the corners inward from underneath to lift it up and out of the way. No big deal at all. We're very pleased with our rear net and factory rubber 'cargo trey'. Let me know if you want a photo.

I posted this in the thread linked above. However, this thread is newer, so not sure if this one will be read more than the other. Sorry for repeating these questions:

I am partial to WeatherTech with past vehicles. Just outstanding quality. However, I do not like that they do not offer a behind 2nd row larger split seat cargo mat for the Aviator. I was looking into the Huskey rear cargo mat based on comments in this forum that allows for the cut seam for the split in the 3rd road seats. However, some amazon reviews are a bit critical of the mats quality and complain that its surface is too slick surface, contributing to things sliding easier than the WeatherTech cargo mats.

Any feedback from those with the Huskey mats? Are the critical reviews I’ve seen warranted, or overblown? Like it? Is it a slick surface, or normal surface, or ideally a grippy surface? There are a handful of competing split 3rd row seat options on Amazon for half the price, but made overseas by off brand manufacturers. I’d prefer to buy from stateside if the quality is good and it’s not a slick surface. Want to buy the Huskey, but don’t want to pay double for something that perhaps is no better quality than the off brand options at half the price.

For reference, I have the small Lincoln Aviator OEM cargo mat behind the 3rd row cargo mat now. That thing is very slick, and things totally slide easier than on my older WeatherTech mats. I really don’t like the surface of the OEM mat So that is somewhat of my comparison point and concern with the Huskey.

In my opinion, the Husky is slippery. With that said, I have not compared it to any other mats. Husky is all I know. Basically when I drive around, even not aggressively, anything in that cargo area slides around.

Bummer, but glad I asked. Even with it being slippery, do you prefer it since it accommodates the split in the 3rd row seats?

I too have Husky in 3rd row. My 23' came with the $200. factory liners. Frankly, they are similar to Weather Tech and if cheaper, are what I would recommend. Note.. That price on the window sticker also included the original carpeted ones so they actually cost less if one had ordered his Lincoln without the carpeted ones as both options were on the order sheet. Here in FLA, they work great to keep sand from getting into the carpeting. Grand Kids are messy!!!

I have purchased Husky ones previously and they are very good. Weathertech are the top of the line, but pricing difference is only worth it if you want the best.

That was the exact reason I got them. The ability to split fold that second row without having to remove the liner was the deal sealer for me. They have served the purpose and have held up for almost 4 years.
