Hi all, the wife informed me that for the past three days when she presses the button on the liftgate, she can hear the latch click, but the trunk doesn't open. It finially does open after several attempts. Works fine from inside the cabin and the foot swipe sensor, and of course it works for me 🤣. Any thoughts?

Hi Matthew1. Just a blind, Internet thought:
Since it works for you and every other way, and only seems to malfunction when your wife presses the button…Is there a slight possibility she is keeping her hand on the button/liftgate a bit too long, and the liftgate sensor is reading it as an obstruction?

Probably not the issue, but thought I’d mention it.

Otherwise, the symptoms you describe would seem to be a defective/failing button or related electronic issue, which so far has only failed when your wife uses it.

I’m sure others will also jump in to help, so keep us updated and good luck.

I had been having the same problem with both of my Lincolns. I began to suspect that it was because I had my key fob and phone in the same pocket. I have kept them in separate pockets for about 2 months now, and the problem hasn’t occurred since.
Does your wife keep her fob and phone in her purse?

I'll give the a longer press on the button a try.

Yup in the same pocket in the purse.I'll ask her to separate them and see what happens.
