Aside from not being clear that the Ford Authority vehicle is either a Corsair or destined for US (really no side markers in China?!), I'll be very disappointed if the new Corsair is not an EV or better yet an PHEV with 50 mile electric range.

The political climate could change in a couple of years but today, I'd not even consider buying a made in China vehicle. So even if this reflects what the new Corsair will be, I sure hope the US model is not made in China.

The Nautilus already is made in China. Honestly after driving one for a month (I have a 23 BL but got a 24 BL as a loaner for a month) the fit and finish is just as good as my Canadian made Nautilus. My only gripe was SYNC 5. Its all Google ran. And My issue with Google is how quickly they abandon their products for support. Now maybe Ford/Lincoln had them contract binded to support it for X many years I don't know for sure. But I'm also a diehard Apple user and really loathe Android OS. So SYNC 4 is much more my speed. I also think my interior is more classic Lincoln. I like it better. The new Nautilus DOES have some really neat features I wish mine had, like the heated wipers with the integrated spray nozzles. And the digital scent and rejuvenate features. But other than that, I like mine better.

With all that being said, the quality is no different than mine, or my Wifes 24 Corsair RII. Id expect fit and finish to be the same on the new 27 Corsair made in China or not. Where something is made doesn't necessarily make a difference in quality. My Mexico made 16 Fusion Titanium has 291,000 miles on it, and everything still works and it rides very nicely for its age and mileage. I think honestly most people take politics into too much consideration and let it get in the way of reality.

given the tariff threats I don't know how a car manufacturer can decide where to build anything

Quality has nothing to do with why I wouldn't buy such a technology intensive, expensive item from China. Reasons similar to why I wouldn't buy Tesla.

Lincoln has four car models to sell. Killing one is reducing that by 25%. For whatever reason, the 23 Chinese Corsair got a much bigger refresh than its American cousin. Even with tariffs it may make sense to import the Chinese version so Lincoln dealers have something to sell. If that's what's running around in all of the recent pics it's probably here being modified so that it can pass U.S. safety requirements and the testing that goes along with it.

Ford is in a fog in terms of what to produce and market; they once sold as may Taurus/Sable as Toyota Camry. Lost that market by failing to keep up. Lost the livery market when they stopped producing the Town Car; don't produce a single sedan even though that market continues to sell decent numbers; have stopped producing the F150 Lightning because of lack of demand and huge oversupply; lost most of its European customers; stumbling around in the dark; your guess is as good as mine!
