2025 Nautilus Reserve II
Although the Owner's Manual says there should be a USB-A Aux Input port for playing Music MP#s, etc., I cannot find one on my 2025 Nautilus Reserve II. The only USB-A port does not recognize memory sticks that play fine in other cars. Any ideas?

I use the USB A port next to the cup holders with flac music files and it works perfectly.

check the manual for supported file types

Thanks to all for the replies. I'll try different size sticks and audio formats. I did notice that all 3 responses are from 2024 model owners...

I believe there's an older thread noting that the 2024+ does not support WAV files, if you're still holding on to those.

Maybe see if this thread helps.

Thread 'USB Music Formats'

What I found by experimenting a bit on my 2025 Reserve II was this:
  • 2GB sticks formatted in Fat32 are recognized and will play supported music files
  • 4GB sticks formatted in Fat32 are not recognized at all, regardless of the files on them
  • .FLAC, .MP3 and .WAV files are all supported
  • Folders on USB sticks are ignored - all files get played regardless of location.
So, in my case, the USB-A port will not be used for music. As a side bonus, I tried playing DTS Surround 5.1 WAV files from my phone via bluetooth and they sound AWESOME!

So what player do you use?

I'm on an Android and use an app called Musicolet. It's compatible with Android Auto.

As I have "elder statesman" ears, I just do everything as 320kbps CBR mp3. I know newer formats can be more compact, or there's always lossless, but the truth is I use this for compatibility with a bunch of devices and for vehicle music find a good mp3 off a lossless source to be plenty good enough for my ears.

I finally ordered a USB for our Nautilus, a SAMSUNG MUF-256AB/AM FIT Plus 256GB - 300MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive, $20. Our '17 RX has its little brother, a 64GB, that's run great for 5 years.

I'll do a test run, load a portion of our pretty large set of recordings to work through any kinks of drive format and layout for Nautilus compatibility, before doing the full load.

Here's what I got when I Googled it:
"
While you can manually control Musicolet, and even open it via voice commands (like "Ok Google, open Musicolet"), the app itself doesn't have built-in functionality to directly respond to voice commands like "Play [song name]". You would need to use a separate voice assistant and potentially utilize other tools like Tasker to achieve this level of control, according to a thread on Google Groups. "

I will be interested to see if the car recognizes the 256GB drive.

I still have an old 8GB iPod nano 3rd generation from 2007 that I used to use over USB in my Ford Fusion with SYNC 2 MyFord Touch and SYNC 3 (upgraded the APIM and screen to do this) but support for iPod seems to have ended with SYNC 4 as my 2023 Nautilus won't recognize it. All it does is charge the battery lol. It would be nice to see support come back for it.

This low profile thumb drive allows the sliding door to close and works well in my USB A port. I use it mostly for listening to books rather than music as Spotify has most of my music available.

I believe that would be something a mechanic could lose if left during service. I had plug covers in mine and it disappeared after a code update.

There's a sliding door that closes? 😳

I had a 256GB Samsung FIT, like markfm said they ordered. I used it in my previous Corsair, and in a Buick Enclave without issues. But it would not work in my 25 Nautilus. (Wouldn't show up or be seen.) I contacted Samsung - they sent me a replacement (it was still under warranty). The new one has worked without issue. As I've asked in previous posts, I wish there were a way to easily switch from FM to USB easily. I normally have Android Auto full screen on my center display, and need to either go to the home screen or app screen to select USB. A hard switch or voice command would be much easier. But it does sound good when I finally get there.

Very interesting. Can you tell any difference in the replacement from Samsung? Different formatting? I can't get any of my 4GB sticks formatted FAT32 to be recognized.

I ordered a Samsung 256GB FITplus, will be installing it in a couple days.

Check your drive format. If it says exFAT (what my new 256GB came formatted as - I reformatted to FAT32, 32KB cluster size) that might be why the Nautilus won't use it.
