2025 Aviator How to Activate "Embrace" Entry?

FYI, there is no word "Embrace" in the 2025 manual. I found it by searching the word "Approach". It seems that "Approach Lighting" is now the term that is used. And, YES, it is enabled in the settings. A few posts in this thread suggest it is a software issue that requires updating. I hope to hear back from my dealership about an appointment by tomorrow and see what the diagnostic test shows.

Hi Peter. YES, Lincoln called/calls the entire suite of approach items “The Lincoln Embrace”, as you also did in your question (“Approach (Embrace) Lighting”.

As we both stated…Since you have it enabled, it is very likely a software glitch which will need to be addressed by update.

Hope you get a resolution soon. Good luck. 🍻

Hi Peter. YES, Lincoln describes the entire suite as the “Lincoln Embrace” in their literature, as you, I and others have done in this thread. The approach lighting is a part of that suite of features.

Since you state the Lincoln Embrace/Approach Lighting is enabled, it seems very likely it is a software glitch which will need to be corrected via update/reflashing etc.

Hopefully your Service Department can diagnose and correct this quickly.

Keep us updated and good luck. 🍻

Hi preds8213. Sorry to hear it wasn’t corrected yet. Do you know what components were “replaced” (they should be listed on the work invoice)? How many service visits have you had for this issue so far? Posting that information here may help others with the same issue.

Either way, if it wasn’t diagnosed and corrected properly yet, then there is a defect/glitch/gremlin which will require another service visit. Unfortunately, these types of issues may occur with new models, and even with existing/carry-over models.

I understand how frustrating it can be. However, the only way to get problems corrected is to let the Service Department and Lincoln know about them, so the field engineers can dig deeper.

Hopefully you can have everything working correctly soon and experience no more issues.

Thanks for the information, keep us updated, and good luck.

No we had issues with delivery. They repaired those issues and replaced the battery to the car, and was told there was a lidar update so they updated it. The Approach worked right after that and again is back to not working. The dealership is an hour away. So it's not easy to get to them repeatedly

Hi preds8213. Yes, it can be difficult to get our vehicles in for service when our closest Dealership is not conveniently located.

If you are within the distance limits, perhaps see about using the Dropoff/Pickup, complementary loaner service, so you do not need to personally drive the vehicle to the Dealership.

Also, now that you mentioned the battery being replaced, and the lighting originally working, then not working: How often do you drive the vehicle, and does your driving consist mainly of short trips? Also, have you received any “Deep Sleep Mode”, “Battery Saver Mode”, or similar messages in the vehicle, and/or through the LincolnWay app on your phone? Just pondering the possibility that the Lincoln Embrace/Approach Lighting may be disabled due to an undercharged battery.
This can occur due to infrequent driving, along with primarily short trips when we do drive, or even a parasitic battery drain which would need to be properly diagnosed and corrected.

Hopefully you can get it in for service soon and have the issues corrected.

Keep us updated and good luck.

It's a daily driver and no not short trips and no deep sleep. Someone on here said it's a known issue with software update to come. Is that true

When I called Lincoln to report the issue and mentioned that a member indicated his dealer said it required a software update, the concierge stated that nothing about any current or future software update is on file for the 2025 Aviator. She said that even if Lincoln was working on a possible update, it would show on the file.

Peter

The dealer had the vehicle for about 1.5 hours and they didn't find anything related to an issue. They confirmed the Approach Lighting wasn't working upon approach but the lighting did work when the vehicle was unlocked with the fob.. They put the disassembled parts back together and advised the lighting was working when the vehicle was unlocked with the fob. The service advisor told me that there will be a software update coming in the 1st quarter of 2025. While the vehicle was there, 2 updates were performed on the doors. No idea what that was about.

Peter

Despite the news that an upcoming software update for the approach lighting is coming, the techs at my dealership had me come back again for another unknown update and to again check the "Embrace" lighting. In order to complete the unknown update they first had to replace the battery as it wasn't holding enough charge.
After they finished the work, they were able to get the Embrace lighting to work....once. Further attempts were unsuccessful so they are ordering a new antenna to see if that might help. They are providing me with a loaner Lincoln while the work is ongoing. I'll be going back on Dec.11th for the antenna replacement and a loaner has already been arranged. It seems the techs are doing their best to try and get the Embrace lighting working despite an update being in the works.

Peter

Purchased a 2025 Aviator Premier Saturday and Embrace does not work either.
Welcome to the Forum Pete. 👋
I have no faith in the techs getting mine working next week, but I'm willing to give them another try. Most likely the software update in the first 1/4 of 2025 will fix it.

Peter

I've had my 2025 Aviator for three weeks and the "Lincoln Embrace" works maybe once a week. I did receive a call from a personal assistant at Ford/Lincoln and she did not hear of any issue with the embrace but said she would look into it and confirm if it is a software issue.

Do you have both a 22 and 25 Aviator? Time to update your profile.
The techs at my dealership were told there will be a software update in early 2025 to fix the Embrace issue. In the meantime they are trying to fix it themselves.

Peter

After several dealer visits and getting a Corsair as a loaner, the dealer has now exhausted all the engineer's suggestions in trying to get the Embrace Lighting to work, They last had my Aviator all day this past Friday to change the antenna but that was fruitless. With the suggestions from the engineers not working I'm beginning to wonder if there is a known issue with the Embrace Lighting that they will correct in the first quarter of' '25 or are they still trying to figure it out?

I have a 25' Aviator and also experiencing the same issue. They claim it's a software issue and there is no current fix. I suggest you all reach out to Lincoln concierge to complain. We shouldn't be making full payments for a vehicle that is not fully functional.

Welcome to the Forum. 👋
When I contacted Lincoln back in November, the person informed me that there was nothing on file about this or any issue with the '25 Aviator. My dealer had me bring the vehicle in a couple of times so that their techs could try some ideas put forth by phone from Ford/Lincoln techs. None were successful although I was told the Embrace Lighting did work one time. Ford/Lincoln said that there would be a software update in the first 1/4 of 2025. I also got the feeling that there was no idea what the problem was at the time. I'll call again next week to see if there is any updated info. The 'Embrace' worked on my previous 2020 and 2023 Aviators.

I just received a call from the dealer. They want to try another procedure to see if it fixes the Embrace lighting. I'm guessing that Ford/Lincoln engineers contacted them.
I have an appointment for tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. Will see what happens and will report back.

Well, the tech tried but could not fix the issue. He showed me what Ford asked him to do, a Special Service Message (SSM 53244). He will contact the engineers and let them know it did not work on mine. I have attached a copy of the SSM.
