Is anyone having problems with their wireless charging pad? I place my iPhone 15 Pro Max on the pad. Indicator states it is charging, but doesn’t. Phone gets hot, but charge never increases.

Works great for my 15 pro. Did have to disable the iPhone charging optimization option ( settings - battery - charging optimization - none ).

If you are using CarPlay with wireless it will use more battery and slow the charging, but you should see it going up.

If you do a search, there's another thread on this topic from a month or so back.

Owners were experiencing similar issues. Some removed the phone case. Some removed the car charging pad's rubber liner. Some disable the phone's charging optimization like JMAB.

I'm not personally having any significant issues other than the phone sometimes getting somewhat hot. But it's a very odd thing . . . for some reason, wireless phone chargers in cars seem to be almost universally problematic. Volvo recently removed them from all their new cars. They overheat phones in all BMWs. Subaru owners are up in arms. I once saw a technical explanation for why what would appear to be a pretty simple and widely used technology is challenged in a car's environment, but I couldn't understand it. Lol.

I will try that! Thanks!!

The wireless charger <> my 15 Pro Max is incredibly fussy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Case or not. I just plug my phone in if it's actually low, or if I'm driving long distances I'll mess with it until it works.

I came from a 2022 XC60, the wireless charging pad was abysmal. It didn't hold the phone in place and so it would slide off immediately upon acceleration/braking. If you had a good case on that actually made it stay, it would get so hot you could cook your breakfast while driving. I disabled it.

It will always get warm with wireless charging due to the transfer technology.

Our 22 Nautilus, with wireless carplay used to overheat the phone and all the apps running to clich and/or crash and then the OS would protect itself and shutdown. The 24 Nautilus now has a ventilation fan below the pad to assist with the cooling and it is working really well to stop the overheating and shutting down. I have a magsafe compatible case on the phone and still charges during a drive - certainly not as fast as with a direct cable or with a fast charge power source. Also, have not been using carplay as much and trying out using the native AA OS with the maps and other apps. So far pretty stable and no real complaints.

My iPhone 15 Pro Max charging problem in my 2024 Nautilus has been solved by doing two things (and thank you forum members for the tips):
1. Disabled "Charging Optimization" in the iPhone Settings; and 2. Remove the little rubber mat thing from the charging holder in the car, so that the phone rests directly on the plastic. Charges fine every time now.

Yes I have experienced the issue, but couldn't get the same response at the dealership. I continue to watch it.

25 Navigator has the slowest wireless charging pad I have ever seen.. for 1% charge on an iPhone 16, it takes 5 minutes. On any other wireless charger, it can charge ~1% per minute, sometimes 1% per 2 minutes... but 1% for 5 ? UGH

my charger has never worked properly. I have to keep moving iphone because it will stop charging or not detect the iPhone there

Same here, iPhone does not charge even if the case and wireless "rubber" is removed :-(

Here is a general service bulletin regarding this issue. Please read the note at the bottom of page 1 regarding iPhones 12 and beyond. They are not compatible with the WACM in the Nautilus.

I'm currently driving a loaner 2025 Aviator and apparently it isn't compatible with the WACM in that vehicle either.
