2024 Nautilus software and battery issues

I purchased a black label 2024 Nautilus on March 30th. in Coconut Creek, FL. Within days the audio system stopped working and the vehicle programming keeps getting lost with screen freezes. Vehicle back at dealer on April 5th. Dealer said three other Nautilus came in same day same issues.
Who did you contact at Lincoln corporate re Lemon Law return. I am afraid that Lincoln released vehicle way before software was ready and I do not intend to be a BETA tester. Your help would be much appreciated. Mort Elbirt
Contact the Lincoln Concierge and get your issues documented. You can request a buy back through them. There is also a BB buy back program listed at the end of your owners manual.

I'm afraid that many of us (me, certainly) have come to just that conclusion. We are the beta testers. :(

In some cases, perhaps alpha testers.

Our new Nautilus has been glitchy. No volume control all of a sudden, was fixed with a system reboot.

Last night we experimented with driver profiles, successfully saved one profile, but when setting a 2nd profile, everything went haywire and all screens went black. Did the volume knob press for system reboot, and it was fine after.

Electronic glitches were the reason my wife traded her car in for this….yikes. 😳

Many of the current software glitches seem to be related to the Profiles. There have been multiple reports of this. Even with only 1 profile (solo owner here), every few days mine does a reboot on its own and deletes my profile and all the settings that go along with it. It's a little irritating, but I just go with the flow until things hopefully get fixed by Lincoln.

That’s helpful to know. Thanks! We’ll delete the profile if things get wacky. We don’t need 2 profiles anyway, so default settings are fine as long as it remembers the basics.

I recently purchased a 2024 Lincoln Nautilis the dealer told me I was the first one in the state of Florida to take possession of the car. Within a few days they called me back to update the software for no particular reason and then within a week of that my battery went dead. I took it in for service, and it went dead again, I took it in for service another time and it continued to drain after they replaced it with a brand new battery now they’re trying to load software to monitor what’s happening to the car and the car won’t accept the software they’re trying to download into my new vehicle my car is only six weeks old I haven’t been able to drive it for three weeks. Has anybody else been having similar software and battery issues?
Purchased my 2024 Hybrid Nautilus 3/18/24 - 3 weeks later a dead battery 4/11/24. Had driven it evening before no issues. Now at dealership & 5 days later no answer. Hugely concerning that I am not alone. Seems this was not ready for market & no real faith in it now.. feel I have a Lemon  Will update as I hear more.

There is a recall for the bronco sport and maverick that sounds similar to this issue. A reprogram of the BCM is required to fix an issue with batteries depleting to an extent that causes electronics to malfunction. I would not be surprised if it is a common issue and will expand or silently be addressed with OTA updates.

I have the same issue with my 2024 Nautilus (gas). First the there was no sound which I fixed with a system reboot. Then the battery died once and then twice. The sound from CarPlay stopped working next so I rebooted the system again and charged up the battery. Let's see how long it lasts. I'm keeping my battery booster in the car just in case! I get a warning on the Lincoln app once the battery is low. I did learn how to open the door with the key in the key fob and you have to put the fob in the holder inside the console for it to start. Hope that helps. If the battery goes dead one more time - it's off to the dealer.

Latest: still at dealership (10 days now) & told "battery shot" ! Then informed they don't have any & will look for one but no idea on timing. We asked can they take one out of one of the 6 unsold Nautilus 24 on lot to at least charge to run diagnostics .. informed that sales don't like them doing that. Finally got a loaner after 1 week - loaner staff were helpful - however for some other staff, the concierge service does not appear to exist ..... approach from one in particular was appalling & she said "are you trying to tell me how to do my job" & shortly after put phone down on my husband. He finally got to talk to service manager ( one listed on website was not the right one !!) & shared not only experience so far ( including phone conversations) but also our suggestions for them to be somewhat proactive in solutions, which they do not seem to be but, he did feel service manager wanted to listen & work this out. The service manager did state they get a lot of vehicles with 'battery rot"! We are meant to hear back by Tues from dealership & on Monday from Client Manager for concierge service so will round back on results.
I also shared with loaner staff the front license plate bracket was just handed to us when we purchased car & no instructions so can they please fit one now they have the car. Interestingly, she was shocked & said it should have been fitted before we took car ( it is a requirement in Oregon) & assured me this would be done ...we shall see.

I’m sorry you are going thru this. Thanks for sharing your experience with the forum.
How many miles were on your car when the issue happened?
Where did you store the keys and how far from the car?
Did you tinker with it a lot in accessory mode?
I’m just trying to figure out if there is some common thread to those having battery issues. Probably know way to know the charge state of the battery when you took Possession.

There was 360 miles approx. when I took possession & I have done approx. 150 more.
Keys are stored in house & about 30ft from car - greater when at work.
Accessory mode - not a lot & was more first week, not in the week before it 'died'.
My husband did notice it would do the "embrace' mode when he got out of his truck but did not have keys for it.

Does your husband have a phone as a key profile set up for it, by any chance, so when he gets out of his vehicle his phone is connecting to the Nautilus?

In the manual, the Embrace is called "Approach Detection":
Approach Detection
The system turns on the exterior lamps when
you approach your vehicle with an
authenticated device.

It shouldn't be doing the turn-on-the-lights unless it sees an authenticated device (key fob or phone as a key kind of thing).

He was set but we removed that & hard to give timing on this one. Does anyone know what the detection range is?

Hi RoseO3191. The detection range for the “Lincoln Embrace” is approximately 10-12 feet from the vehicle, but can vary some, according to which direction we are approaching the vehicle from.

The detection range for the keyless entry system is for the fob to be within approximately 3 feet of the door being opened.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Good luck.

The common thread is taking 4 months from the time they’re built to the time they land at the dealer.

I suspect the transit times causing depleted batteries not corrected by dealers at sale combined with BCM issues allowing for intermittent module time out failures. I really don't think the embrace feature is the problem, or at least not directly. It may cause module wake but it is not timing out and the car slowly drains the battery. It doesn't seem to effect most vehicles so it may either be a configuration setting causing an issue with a code error or a hardware flaw found in some vehicles.

I'm doing some testing on embrace features, but I notice that when I'm going in and out of the car not everything seems to power down in the same timeframe. I recently was running a test and the 11" screen remained on for a while. I went in and turned on power accessory mode to reset everything and it turned off immediately.

This would sorta match your theory which is, by some, being improperly blamed on the PKE.

Yes, our 2024 Nautalis is in the shop also. Live in Florida - Drove it two hours to Tampa fl and got the following message “charging system service soon”. The shop was going to check it out but were not sure if they would find anything because once I turned the car off and turned it back on the message disappeared. They decided to do the software update first and the system won’t update, they just keep getting a blank screen.
Now they say the programmers need to figure out why the system won’t update. They are looking at 1-2weeks.
