My Lincoln
2024 Nautilus
I recently purchased a 2024 Lincoln Nautilis the dealer told me I was the first one in the state of Florida to take possession of the car. Within a few days they called me back to update the software for no particular reason and then within a week of that my battery went dead. I took it in for service, and it went dead again, I took it in for service another time and it continued to drain after they replaced it with a brand new battery now they’re trying to load software to monitor what’s happening to the car and the car won’t accept the software they’re trying to download into my new vehicle my car is only six weeks old I haven’t been able to drive it for three weeks. Has anybody else been having similar software and battery issues?

A reputable source says there is an issue Ford is tracking about fast battery drain when the rear hatch is open.

No issues with my hybrid. Is your car gas or hybrid?

It’s got to be software because just a few days after I bought it, they downloaded or reprogram my software, and said there was a recall

I’ve owned the car for about six weeks and only been able to drive it about half the time

I got mine 4 weeks ago. Software is buggy as all hell. Mostly after switching from the main driver profile, into another driver profile and then back. Today it took half my drive home for all the screens to work. That would be OK if the air conditioning wasn't controlled by them. No ac in South Florida can kinda be a dealbreaker.

Well after 8 weeks of ownership I just got word from corporate Lincoln today 3/12 they are buying back my car under the Lemon Law. It's interesting the Lincoln dealership I have the car being repaired at in Ft Myers FLA will not represent Lincoln and be part of the buyback process. I really didn't expect this to happen after the ordeal of buy a defective car??

These are the EXACT same issues Lexus is having with their new Infotainment System. Software has been rushed out and updates are absent to fix.

Deal breaker for me. I sold my Lexus after 9 months of frustration with 12V dead all the time and crappy Infotainment System.

Yes, I just purchased a 2024 Nautilus the beginning of March and the battery has gone dead twice. I am calling the dealer tomorrow notifying them of the issue and requesting them to pick the car up for servicing. It seems to happen when I don't drive the care for a couple of days. I'll let you know how it goes with the dealer.

Once the buy back is initiated, the dealership has no say in what happens. Their only participation will be accepting and inspecting the vehicle once it is surrendered. The dealership will arrange to have it shipped where ever Lincoln dictates.

Well, there were 3 attempts to fix it in a two month period and they could not figure out how or what to do. So per Florida lemon laws they offered to buy back the car and as a 30 Lincoln owner I am taking my chances on a second 2024 Nautilus and hoping that everything turns out OK 🤞

When I go to Vehicle, settings, system, software update it says Android 12, security update, Aug 5 ,2023.
On my Lincoln Way App, it says software update is 9.1.0. What is the difference?

Android 12 is the core operating system of the car. Think of it as being the Windows 11 of the car. On top of that, Lincoln and Google wrote more software to make all the car-specific stuff to work. That stuff is on version 9.1.

Android is the Nautilus' base operating system, and it runs version 12 of that OS. Android 12 needs to be tailored to specific hardware. Your phone could be running Android 12. Your tablet could be running Android 12. So this number isn't very unique. It's like saying your computer runs on Windows 10. The security date is a patch that was applied to the OS. To make it simple, they usually refer to security patches by their date.

Software 9.1.0 is the version of an application than runs on top of the OS. I do not know if it encompasses Sync 5, or something more narrow. The software update description mentions upgrading the software update method itself. So that version number may only refer to a software module, like the communication module. But regardless, it's something that runs on top of the OS, like Office 2021 runs on Windows.

@CliffDiver beat me. 🙁

I like your version better though. Especially the second paragraph. It’s not really clear in the user interface what all is included in the 9.1 software.
