My Lincoln
2024 Nautilus Reserve Hybrid
I recently purchased a 2024 Nautilus. The issue I'm having is the white, speed limit icon right in front of the steering wheel, next to the speedometer. The roads I travel daily state the speed is 45mph, which it's actually 55mph. At certain intervals, the speed sign drops to 25mph randomly in the middle of no where. I've contacted Lincoln numerous times, getting passed along to various departments. It appears after all the testing, resetting, being passed around to different departments, IT IS A PROGRAMMING ERROR OF INCORRECT SPEED INPUTS INTO THE LINCOLN NAVIGATION SYSTEM. I continue to ask to be connected or get a message to Lincoln's Navigation department, but to no avail. This is way too nice of a vehicle to deal with in icon right in front of me that's wrong and can't turn off. If anyone has any solutions, I sure would appreciate it.

There is no Lincoln Navigation in the 2024+ Nautilus. The system is Android Automotive with native Google Maps.

On the problem street that you mentioned, does the speed limit in Google Maps on the touchscreen match the speed limit on the driver's screen?

Ouch!

I noticed a similar issue on a recent road trip. On random areas of highway, it would indicate that the speed limit in the middle of the interstate dropped from 75mph to 45mph for a little stretch. No speed limit sign or other indicator that anything changed, just the speed limit sign in the dash and of course my cruise control trying to cause an accident by having me randomly slow down to 50mph in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Of course this was out on the highway, nowhere near my home. I can't imagine how frustrating this would be on a road that I regularly travel.

My understanding is the car is ‘reading’ speed limit signs with camera..
There are a few places in my area where this happens to me. They are at freeway ramp areas and I feel pretty sure the car is reading speed signs from the other (fwy/access rd/ramp) roadway.
My biggest ‘wish they could fix-it’ with this is the school zone period limits … after all, they do either have times on them or flashing lights when active.

Hi. Thanks for responding. These are rural, county roads, there is no sign posted until you enter a village or municipality. So, in this case, the camera isn't reading any signs.

Android Auto, Google Maps, Wave, all show the correct speed limits on their displays, they do not appear to be linked to the speed limit icon. The speed limit icon seems to be independent.

Lincoln has been referring to the navigation as "their own" navigation. If it's Android Automotive, which I'm not familiar with, how do I get to someone to report those maps in certain areas are incorrect? They are not showing the same speeds as Google Maps.

Hello Ccalvinn.

Yes frustrating, and just imagine having the wrong speeds that Adaptive Cruise Control is using.... I tested this the other day in regards to the icon displaying the wrong speed. Adaptive Cruise reads that icon, I went from 45mph because that's what it thinks the road speed is, not, to suddenly 25mph as it switched randomly, then random again back to 45mph. Thank goodness this was rural roads and not the highway! 😳 That's why I'm trying so hard to find a programming resolution, this issue could be very dangerous.

This deserves filing a NHTSA complaint online.

It uses signs and gps.

There is one spot on i65 north where it goes 70 - 60 - 70 for about 500ft. Lincoln follows and adjust the same speed changes. No signs are visible.

Google maps speed map shows that’s reduced for that spot. No real reason.

I do report them to Google when I run into them.

Go into app. Choose contribute road update/fix. Other. I just add notes for Google append and the correct speed. You can pin the location on the map.

I just tap the gas in those areas.

Google maps shows the correct speed. The icon on the dash is wrong. Can you tell me how to report the incorrect speed regarding the icon speed limit sign on the dash being wrong?
