2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

Front brake grunt isn't due for a correction222121 until third quarter, and it sounds like it just occurs in cooler temperatures, prior to the brakes warming up. Right now it's only an SSM (basically saying there's something going on, but not a defined correction as of yet) - a CSP is what I'd expect in Q3.

No clue on keyfob proximity. Some people use a faraday pouch (radio frequency blocker) to store their fobs while at home, if the storage location is "pretty close" to the vehicle.

Finally had delivery of my 24 Nautilus R2 yesterday- after waiting weeks for the dealership to receive the car and then a couple more weeks to fix the injector recall. I really love this car but am so fearful other things will pop up. Should I confirm the brakes issue was fixed before my delivery? I am spending today trying to read everything to learn and get the settings the way I want them. But .. of course I have no full owners manual, only supplemental.. so I’ll rely on the online version. However, quick question for you all. While at the dealership- both key fobs sitting on salesman’s desk … my car parked in front - the rear lights kept lighting - I believe the approach lights. We asked and he said sometimes they do that when you’re close with the key … well, the key is on your desk … no one moving them. Do I have to keep the keys far away while at home? I’m concerned it could cause a battery issue? Thoughts?
1. There is no fix yet for brake noise. A few have posted that their dealers tried to do various things, but Lincoln has finally acknowledged the issue in a Service Message (a tracking system they use). But as of today, they have not yet announced how to fix the issue.

2. There has been many, many debates on what is going of with the key fobs being too close to the vehicle. Some will say there is not an issue. Some will say they have seen it do things to the vehicle -- like you witnessed. Some will say they have seen it impact the car battery. Personally, I believe that my car was experiencing battery drain when the fob was kept too close to it. I also saw the Embrace lighting not working properly. The Lincoln app actually informed me that the car was going into battery saver mode after my fob was left only 5 feet away the car overnight. Since then, I keep my fob in a Faraday box inside the house. Since doing that, I have never seen any additional battery issues/notices. And my Embrace lighting functions normally. There have also been 2 software updates (that your dealer can apply if they didn't already) that are related to potential battery drain issues (not related to your fob).

I've run across 2300 and 3000 mile failure reports too, IIRC, though at least one of those may have originally appeared on FB.

Either way, many of the failures we've heard of may have been fairly early, but they can still occur with higher mileage on vehicles without the fix applied.
Here is a CarFax on a repaired CPO Hybrid with over 7,000 mi.

The injectors should be replaced. If the dealer isn't willing to do it, you need to seek another dealer. I know that's not easy, but I'd leave a Google review and notify Lincoln. It's unacceptable.

There is a limited number of hybrids with the problem (about 7,000) and there is no way for anybody to know when the injector will fail. If they have the parts, they should be doing it.

Update on my 2024 Nautilus Hybrid: Lincoln has advised they are willing to RVA the car. Waiting on their offer. The car only has 500 miles and 1 month of use, so I'm expecting 100% refund. They also offered a $2500 incentive to buy another Lincon, which I thought was pretty low, considering the major inconvenience this has caused. There would be some unspecified exclusions on that offer. I'm wondering if there is anyone else on here that has recently been through this scenario? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a buy back agreement on my Corsair and am just waiting on my Nautilus to be delivered before completing the transaction.

Every RAV is different. From what I can tell from others Lincoln will make it whole and you should receive back everything you have paid. You will be required to submit a LOT of documentation to the RAV team. It is your responsibility and the dealer can't do this for you. I had somewhere around 10 different documents they wanted to make the offer. Here is what I had to submit. I spent a better part of a day scanning documents to be emailed to them.

A copy of the vehicle’s current registration

Any repair orders/aftermarket receipts and rental receipts that you are seeking reimbursement for

A copy of the Front and back of the title (if in the customer’s possession) If the title is electronic, will need to request a hard copy

A copy of the bill of sale

A copy of the finance contract for the vehicle

A copy of the title application

A copy of the Clerk of Courts (an Ohio only document)

A copy of the driver’s license of all titled owners

A written payoff statement from the lienholder which includes the following information: A 10 day payoff amount including a daily interest rate (per diem), account number, collateral information, and overnight payoff address

If the vehicle is paid off, please provide a lien release.

A payment history from the lienholder, detailing the payment amounts, and the amounts going to principal and interest.

If the vehicle is paid off, we still request the payment history, this is to credit the interest amount back to you. Should you prefer to forgo this amount, let me know.

thanks. They asked me for pretty much the same, which I just sent in. I will post their response and offer when I get it.

That's great news overall. You getting excited to get your new Nautilus?

The process must be different for a lease. All we needed to provide was copies of our drivers licenses and the registration. Service, sales and Lincoln provided them with all the rest of the financial and service paperwork. We are just waiting on them finalizing the amounts for each of the two options.

Congratulations RH!

I am very excited to get my new Nautilus. It has been built and is now in Shipped status as of June 12. I don't believe it has hit the Shanghai port yet to be loaded onto a RORO.

I was very fortunate the RAV team granted me the extension. It will be interesting if they change the offer significantly or just adjust for more loan payments made.

just curious, what was the extension about?

just curious, what was the extension about?
The extension was allowing me to keep my Corsair until the Nautilus is delivered. Otherwise, I would have been without a vehicle if we had proceeded immediately. My dealership really stepped up and went to bat for me on that.

Well, finally, my dealership started updating cars in stock to clear the CSPs and I went in today and traded my 2016 Lincoln MKX for a new Nautilus Reserve Hybrid. It was a typical car purchase, lots of wasted time, low balled my trade in and by the time the car was handed over it was nearly 5 hours after I arrived. White with the Blue/Black interior and nothing extra beyond the Reserve I package and upcharge for the paint.

I don't know if other states do this, but it was $1,500 extra for the hybrid, but then had a $1,500 "smile state" rebate. I had a $2,000 discount coupon and the dealer threw in another $1,000 and I forced them to give me what I wanted for my 8-year old trade. So, I ended up paying $1000 more than I hoped for, but there were plenty of reasons to think the trade in would be an issue. I tow my MKX behind my motorhome and there is a bunch of towing equipment added to the frame of the car and extra wiring, etc. They pretty much ignored all of that. If someone gets that car as is they will be very confused about those unusual fittings. Only another motorhome owner will understand and find it a plus. I could have sold it to someone that could use all of that, but I didn't want the hassle of having to sell an 8-year old car.

I noticed on my test drive that it has the brake groan on slow speed stopping. But it's not bad and I'll wait for the official fix from Lincoln.

Again, many many thanks to this website to inform me of the CSP issues really the day before I was going to go in to purchase Nautilus Hybrid a month ago!!

Happened to us also. 900 miles, check engine light came on, following day just died! Need a new engine. Anyone worried about that impacting resale?

That’s what we requested and were told that wasn’t an option. I’m very disappointed in Lincoln’s response to this problem! 900 miles and only two months of ownership. Frustrating process.

Congratulations! Good luck with your decision(s) going forward.

We are awaiting our "numbers" proposal from Lincoln due next week. All we know now is that there are two possible options and they did say that one of them came with the same incentive to buy another. I can't comment on the overall size as we have not seen either entire package. I agree with the amount of Lincoln love that IS due considering everything that has gone on for the last 4 months. Will know soon enough.

I have been cautious to be so excited about my Nautilus R2 after reading issues on this forum … and just like that 1 week to the day, 301 miles … I feel the power reduce as I take off from a light .. and a message pops up about a powertrain malfunction and reduced power .. “service needed soon”. Anyone else??

That sucks. Did they provide a reason as to why? Your circumstances are not that much different than mine.

they absolutely should be bending over backwards for the owners in this situation. I must say they have been very accomodating so far, but now we are in crunch time. Fingers crossed they do the right thing. Good luck with yours. I will post something ASAP.

No real response other than, “ we have great news! We will just replace your engine”. Asked for an extended warranty and was also told no regarding that. Really concerned about this impacting resale.
