2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

Same. We are in Indian Trail / Matthews and used Mark Fricken as well. Are you the other white one I have seen once or twice?
Way cool. Actually, in Weddington but we have the Matthews zip code. Maybe as we have been in the service bays way too many times for a new car ;). They have a great service and sales manager that take care of us, at least as much as Lincoln lets them sometimes.

I can tell you that Lincoln RAV will make you whole. My 2021 Corsair is currently under RAV. I'm just waiting on my Nautilus to complete the transaction. The RAV offer pretty much gives me back every cent I put into the vehicle including taxes, interest on the loan and any add-ons that I made that were vehicle specific.

I wish you the best!

For the record, I tried to schedule our vehicle for service and get a loaner. My big issue was a 600 mile trip we have scheduled in a week for medical treatment. I'm not comfortable about the injector issue, particularly when I'm disabled and my wife would have to push me down the highway in a wheelchair if we were stranded.

Regardless, the dealership said all their loaners were booked for the next month. If we took the vehicle in, we'd be on our own. I argued how they should be renting loaners for customers. I've seen it on here and we've seen that with prior vehicles. But…she was just the scheduler. I don't think the dealership will be doing anything different. 😕

We will likely rent a car for our trip. What a pain.

Try reaching out through Lincoln Concierge? Let them know: you have a must-do long trip; are uncomfortable based on knowing that the CSP 24B23 says dealers shouldn't be demoing/selling vehicles flagged for that issue; how significant the problem is if it arises; you are seeking a loaner proactively given they have an acknowledged problem and you cannot afford to be stranded with a blown engine if it fails while on the road.

I say drive the nautilus, If it breaks down call roadside assistance. The big risk is just if its more than 100 miles away you have to pay the extra mileage in towing or have it serviced out of state and fight the fight after the fact to get it brought back to your local dealership. They pay $1000 for lodging/rental in an emergency break down.

I went to the dealer this morning to voice my concern about driving my Nautilus, especially given that we have a trip coming up this weekend. I was told that they cannot provide 'proactive' loaners and that no loaner will be provided unless my car shows symptoms of the injector problem. Not sure this is a good customer-centric approach, but I can see it their way as well. My biggest issue -- besides the time and inconvenience this will involve -- is what Jacyte mentions - getting it towed back to my local dealer if it happens while we're traveling. Just the fact that I have to say those words "if it happens" is a bummer.

Agree, not the best customer focused tact. Mr. C (service mgr.) told me the same thing when I brought up the injector issue last week regarding an upcoming road trip after Mother's Day to the Virginia Creeper - roughly a 400 mile round trip. It seems that they are following the corporate process workflow for yet fully documented issues. I have high hopes that this approach will change when they have the complete engineering work effort writeup and parts available to perform the diagnostics and fixes.

I was told today by our collective manager that they aren't expecting a fix and/or parts until mid-June. That may have changed per some of the chatter I see here, but if that is true, it could be a long two months.

And our trip Mother's Day weekend is closer to 500 miles round-trip. Oof.

If the fix was not a new engine if it fails on the road I would be less concerned. I am sure they do not have a lot spares readily available and then the side isuess..training. possible collateral issues. My wish is they can start getting parts soon as hoped. I am parking mine rather than leave at dealer. The only longer drives now involve the truck until June. I was told ny lincoln concierge that they are trying to get parts mid May. Still seeing hybrid ads on fb and tvv.

I guess they are playing the "cost" comparison odds and hoping things continue with only a few failures per 100/1,000.

huge concerns about all the many many potential collateral damage opportunities swirling on both the calendar and inside the engine compartment!!! If they could get a “new” engine relatively quickly and then find the right team to do the pull, prep and replace, all while not doing ancillary power train component, bodywork, paint, etc., damage…. Might be better off at a craps table….

Since it was already brought up about the proactive ~$1,000 cost of just swapping out the injectors, I wonder what the cost of a new hybrid engine, swap labor, fluids, etc. is? It has to be in the $15 a $20k neighborhood.

I rolled the dice this weekend on a 400 mile round trip to Houston, made it back with engine fully intact. I did discover a knocking sound on the interstate coming from driver's side rear. Though I have a Premier II, so it wouldn't seem to be associated with the other discussion and current CSP for the rear suspension.🙄

We have a flight coming up on Saturday out of Houston, and I'm not willing to risk missing that, so we'll be taking the Ioniq 5.

I suspect Ford knows the cause of the failures and the fact they were able to isolate by VIN says it either tied to a injector lot or assembly period. The injectors are not installed at the vehicle assembly date, the powertrain arrives pre-assembled and may have been built months prior. If it was a bad batch with a known defect I feel ford would isolate the batch and just replace parts. In this case it seems they are reluctant to replace parts and might have some sort of inspection in the works. Maybe it was an assembly issue, potential damage caused by improper procedure.

Was the knocking related to uneven pavement or was it constant (rhythmic)?

Phew! That’s great news, welcome home.

Dice roller (foo3922). What was your build date? My vin sequence is 806322. I suspect that the last four digits are significant.

I am saddened by the stress you and your wife are going through over all this. Above all, I wish you the best of health and success with your upcoming treatment, and a safe trip!

You are a great contributor to this forum community. I always look forward to your postings, advice and knowledge sharing!
I hope you find satisfaction with your Nautilus, and that it remains reliable, I would hate to see you jump ship to another brand due to dissatisfaction with your purchase.

Lincoln could ease the concerns of owners by just releasing VIN #'s of the vehicles affected! Why can't dealers provide this as of yet?
