2024 delivery schedule

My dealer didn't ask for anything in the way of a downpayment when I placed my order and accepted a personal check for the downpayment when it was released to me. The only order downpayment request was when I ordered my 1st of 5 vehicles from them. :)

I just thought I would mention my encounter with the dealer discussing payment. I had not provided a down-payment of any kind for the pre-order.

The dealer said they could deal with a personal check as high as the total cash value of the vehicle. They would need to run a credit check, but that was the only hindrance. I was considering a 'cash' payment since their interest rate was only as low as 6.9%, but they said they'd do as low as 2.9% for 36 months, so I think I'll go that route instead.

Also, he said they would do a direct bank transfer using routing numbers, but it would take longer to get approved.

No, I'm not taking delivery today. But they called me this afternoon to discuss some questions I had emailed them. One was whether I needed a cashier's check, and at what amount would that be?

It's kind of complicated, but I plan to trade in a vehicle, but my son is driving it right now because we have another vehicle in the shop. (This is before I get him the new car.) So we'll wait to get the car back and take delivery afterward. I'm expecting Monday.

I was surprised to see mine hardly changed. Increase of $150 annually compared to my 2019 Edge ST.
Mine was high because I added a car, I wasn't replacing one. So now I have 3. And I was in a very minor at fault accident that cost the insurance all of $2000 and now I'm paying super premium plus the teenage kid.

I used a credit card for the $2K deposit the dealer wanted (refundable). Then when I got call today, I told him I wanted the 2.9%. I don't know why I didn't just finance the whole enchilada at that rate but I paid part of it down. I asked how much I could put on credit card for points, and then put down the rest with a personal check.

If I ever do get my vehicle, I am putting most of it down with a personal check and financing the rest for 36 months. I think a little banter is okay while the rest of wait for delivery as all we can do is twittle our thumbs.

An important point there is that you now have three cars and three drivers. Which means the teenager has to be assigned to one as primary.

I no longer drive, but I'm listed on the insurance. We have two cars (in my name) but three drivers. We assign me and my wife as the two primary drivers, and the son as an ad hoc driver.

Now here's the funny thing. You'd think it would save us money to take me off the insurance policy entirely, since I don't drive. But it would actually cost us more in insurance because the teenager would have to be assigned as a primary.

"It's 8 pm Pacific Time. Miraculous Ace is still docked in Portland. And all is well!" 🔔

- Back on point.

I got you half way. One son is a car nut, drives a manual, does all his own work, (replaced his front axle last fall), but the other son is not mechanically inclined. He ignores funny sounds, has no clue about maintenance, even though I taught him all this. He hated driving a manual. The one starring moment he had was changing someone's flat tire for them. At least he could do that.

Btw, as I was typing this, I got the email from the dealer that the Nautilus has landed. 🥳 It's a good thing it's a leap year, or it would have taken until March.
Swindler,

Finally, right?!? Congratulations!

Picked up my car last night. They were in a hurry to get it done by month's end. X-Plan worked fine...thank goodness.
Lincoln order screen now says Final prep. So it seems like it takes until the end of the day to update.

Window sticker just populated.
Reserve 1 Hybrid, only other option was the White Platinum Met CC
Didn't want a sunroof.

Indicates 30 mpg city, 31 mpg Highway.
Still has the Florida smile discount $1500.00 😁
The Hybrid option vs Smile discount make it a wash.

MSRP with shipping = $57,095.00

NO crash ratings yet

Fyi, my status date updated between mid-morning and late-morning, (when they picked it up I'd guess), and then mid-afternoon I was pulling it up to show my wife and saw it was at Final Prep. I think it's just when the dealer processes it.

I'm curious. What's the destination charge⁰? My invoice still shows $1395. I think they must honor that based on when you ordered it, or maybe when it was built?

They honored that for me.

Hi swindler. At the Dealership level, "Final Prep" is when the Dealership delivery staff inspects the vehicle, removes protective films, plastics etc. from the interior and exterior, unlocks the infotainment system, gives the vehicle its final cleaning and detailing, etc.

Essentially, it is the final step before they call and tell you it is ready to come sign the paperwork and take it home! 🤗

Good luck! 🍻

Hi swindler. The "Destination charge" is essentially similar to what used to be referred to as a "Destination and Delivery charge", a "Delivery charge" and similar phrases.

And yes, the originally quoted Destination charge should be honored (if Lincoln raised it while waiting for production and delivery), if it was listed/noted in a signed Purchase Contract. If no Purchase Contract was signed, we are technically at the mercy of the Dealership. Hopefully you have it memorialized in a written contract.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Yep. Thanks. I think @agogley was thinking the order status didn't update to Final Prep until after he picked it up. I'm sure somebody has to manually update the status at some point?
