My Lincoln
2023 Corsair Res III
Good morning. Happy Wednesday!
I am super-new here. Currently driving a 3yo Explorer w/ only 9k miles (picked it up as "brand new" in July 2024.
As much as I love the vehicle - I hate to say that there is an opportunity for me to downsize/upgrade to a 2023 Reserve III that is already depreciated to $37k (the original MSRP was $61k) It has 17k miles. It was a personal lease.
Question: what should I look carefully at? What should I check 2-3 times before signing the papers?

Pros of downsizing:
- I am single - I don't need 7 seats
- the Explorer is a pre-facelift w/ somewhat dated tech, while the Corsair is more modern, super-well appointed
- the Corsair is clean, serviced, probably well maintained
- is one model-year newer than my Explorer
- has better gas mileage / is more nimble

Cons:
- The Corsair ain't new. Who knows how it was driven?
- There is a noticeable steady vibration - hopefully it's just wheel/tire balance issue
- I noticed how small the trunk is (I use it a lot in my Explorer)
- The Explorer is much more versatile (although rather basic and lacking Lincoln's bells and whistles)

I would like to know what to be aware of before potential switch. Thank you and Corsair On!

We bought a 2022 Corsair in back in June , had 18,000 miles on it. Traded in an Explorer which we loved. Absolutely love the Corsair. Smooth, quiet ride, fun to drive, easy to park, more room in garage. Sure the cargo area is smaller but we found out it still has enough room for all of our “stuff” when we travel.

I have just checked many sources of information and will probably pull it off. Price is good. Trade-in value is good. The car looks great (Whisper Blue w/ bright interior, fully loaded.)

Ok, so today I picked up the vehicle and drove ca. 200 miles. So far so good! Almost everything is amazing.
The problems noticed so far:
- seams in the Perfect Position seats are pronounced more than I would love
- wireless charger does not charge my iPhone 14 Pro Max - it cycles constantly switching on and off
- my car is a Reserve III and it should have the welcome mat - how can I turn it on?

You have a warranty… take it in, it’s free

the iPhone may need a small piece of foam (or blue tape) to hold it from moving to far off the QI.

From page 129 of the owners manual:

SWITCHING WELCOME LIGHTING
ON AND OFF
Welcome lighting turns on the exterior
lamps when you approach your vehicle
with an authenticated device.
1. Using the instrument cluster
controls on the steering wheel,
select Settings.
2. Select Vehicle.
3. Select Lighting.
4. Switch Welcome Lighting on or off.
Note: Welcome lighting still displays
when you use your remote control to
unlock your vehicle.

If I remember correctly, the vehicle has to be locked with the mirrors folded in order for the “logo puddle lamp” to activate.

The charging pad works Ok with my iPhone 12 Pro. however, I don’t use it because the phone gets very hot on the charging pad. I keep a USB cord in the compartment and use it to charge the phone when I need to.

I find the Perfect Position seats comfortable, and haven’t had any problem with them. Before buying the car, I did read reviews where some people didn’t like the optional seats. I like them better than the seats in my 2015 MKC.

Yes the Lincoln logo puddle lamp only works with the mirrors folded. Interesting that my buddy has a 2023 Explorer ST and the puddle lamp logo works when the mirrors are opened or closed.

I have two Ford, Lincoln vehicles with wireless chargers, and neither work well enough to charge while using Android Auto. They do okay if charging a dormant phone, but a 12 volt car charger is still the best for fast charging and while using Android Auto or Car Play. The phone does get hot on the wireless charger as was mentioned in a previous post.

Thank you all for replies.
FYSA: I did not get the User's Manual - will have to download that later.

The car is amazing. Looking forward to many trips!

I purchased my Corsair new in January 2024. No hardcopy owner’s manual was included. I had to download mine. I think hardcopy versions may a vestige of the past.

Yes, included with the car is a thing of the past, at least since 2023.

But manuals are available from Helmic, though I've no idea what the "Not a full owners manual" disclaimer is supposed to mean as the one for my 2023 was a monster 600 pages.

The online digital version of the manual is 742 pages.

Like a Britannica Encyclopedia :)

The initial impression is incredible: 20-month old car feeling like brand new. What a quality!
Of course nothing is perfect, but this Corsair is actually something I was looking for unconsciously. Comfort, agility, smoothness, satisfaction, compactness, and the list goes on and on. Only three days with the vehicle, and perhaps the first time in my life have no initial regrets (except cargo and somewhat loud exhaust.)
Fun fact: have just realized how many people turn their heads lol.

Trying to find out if my Lincoln has BlueCruise enabled. I drove on I-70 to KC, MO and it offered lane changes, slowed down on bridges, in turns, but never allowed a "hands-free" driving.
My iPhone app does not show BlueCruise. Trying to contact Lincoln's support.

2023 Reserve III (same car I mentioned in my original post above.)
Bought it preowned last week from a Ford dealer here in MO.

Hi tidji74. Did you purchase your vehicle new?
EDIT- Our posts crossed in the mail before you answered that above.

Have you acquainted yourself with how to adjust your vehicle settings?

Without looking through the Dealer Order Guide to find your trim level features: If you’re not familiar with how to do this, it is explained in the Owners Manual. If you don’t have your hard copy, you can download the PDF version from the Lincoln Owners website.

If that is not possible for some reason, you can stop by your Lincoln Dealership and have your salesperson explain the features (they should have done that when you purchased).
EDIT- You purchased used from a Ford Dealer.

Or call Lincoln Concierge and ask if they can help.

Or perhaps another member will jump on here and walk you through it.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Hi, bbf2530. No, I purchased it used (at 17k miles.)
I did get familiar w/ things, I went through settings, features, etc. Drove last Sunday to Kansas City, MO on I-70 and it allowed me to do BlueCruise in all aspects but hands-free driving (for more than your typical 20 seconds.) Not a big deal.

Today I spoke w/ Lincoln connected services rep and they escalated the case. The car has trial Blue Cruise 1.2 until May 2025, but for some reason it cannot be activated. I will try to go to a local Lincoln dealership here in MO on Saturday. Maybe they will be able to help before I hit the road on Sunday driving 800+ miles mostly on mapped highways.)

Otherwise the car is just great! Definitely a step-up from a 2022 Explorer.

I am going through search results on ANC and I see, that my Corsair may have an artificially generated sound. I can also hear a hint of the same bass exhaust tone on the outside. I can definitely hear that noise coming from the back. Should I check for exhaust puncture/perforation? It is kind of confusing.
