Correct, there's no mode that eliminates the rough ride over minor ruts in the road. However, reportedly 20" tire/wheels appears to solve that issue.

Yes. It still won't ride like a good vehicle with air suspension, but it does help a lot without any detriment to handling.

20" Weld Ventura Wheels

Finally replaced the silly stock 22" wheels with these. Flow-forged 20"x9.5" Weld Ventura 6 (S106) with 275/55 Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3. This combo is about 20 (twenty!) pounds lighter than stock per wheel. Rides much better now: I no longer feel every crack in the pavement.

I havent ridden an any car based luxury suvs, but for truck based suv on coils, it rides about same if a tad worse than the other truck based suvs such as escalade, gw, and qx80 as far as I felt anyway.

I have a 2020 and a 2022 and both are horrible when it comes to a soft ride . My 2022 actually is the worst riding suv I’ve ever owned. No bounce and definitely feel every bump and minor road issues with hard rides. I’ve had several clients say something about how rough riding my Lincoln’s are. I’ve taken it in and been told by 2 separate dealers that that’s how they’re supposed to ride. 🙄. For this kind of money, I want to feel like I’m gliding on a cloud not rock crawling on a mountain.

I havent been in a recent suv of any type that has this, so let me know when you find one lol. I like how my truck rides, but i would def like a soft pillow ride in my suv. I heard the x7s ride too soft, I was thinking bout em but the rear seat package it just too small.
 
X7 is a piece of junk, takes minutes for seats to move, and is soft it can’t corner.

I bought a truck, something to tow my giant boat, kids, and stuff. I want it to ride like a beast.. and it does, more importantly, it’s super reliable, and goes through pretty much anything (I hit a tumbleweed yesterday - it lost 🙈)

You don’t get this from a X7, nor can you get an X7 fixed just about any rural spot.

Sorry for ur loss...r u gonna wait for the 25s to replace it with. The expy had interior spied and it's gonna have the same layout as the nautilus, so I'm interested to see what lincoln will change for the nav.

Hi Dave, we just purchased a 2020 Reserve with low miles. The 22" wheels definitely make the ride rougher. Around town I use the excite (mentioned in another post) mode as the ride seems more controlled and less "bouncy".

My trucks been at the dealer for a cpl weeks. After driving my little forte and my wife's cx9 over the week, my truck is so cloud like. However, again, when it's at its best, it's one of the most comfy on the road, but it doesn't stay that way for long.
 
Our 2023 was picked up yesterday for its first service. The dealership dropped off a new Navigator for us to use for the next two days. This was fortunate, as I have wanted to drive another Navigator for ride comparison. I started this thread and over time have "accepted" the crappy ride over rough and unkept pavement. I can now absolutely check the box that confirms it's not only our vehicle. The new one rides as bad, if not worse. However, it fairness to the overall experience, our Navigator looks great has all the creature comforts and a sound system that rivals my Aston Martins $8500 B&O sound system. I'm taking Eckhart Tolle's advice and will live in the moment and focus on the vehicles positive features.
 
I guess the post refresh models ride firmer than the pre refresh. I have driven the 2022s, and i thought they felt great but id agree it is an outdated feel (great in the straights, body is weak, and deterioates fast on bad roads), but it also feels like each vehicle and customer expectations vary as well. The expedition forum is all over the place when talking about the ride. In my experience, the vehicle itself has different ride characteristics on a daily basis. Hell, on long drives, the ride will change mid road trip. This is true for every vehicle I've owned, but more so with each ford/lincoln suv I've owned. Hopefully ford and lincoln research dept did their research for the 2025 remodels development so that the ride problems are fixed.

I have driven nothing but trucks my while life. From jacked up Chevys and new Dodges in the 70's to new Broncos from 79 thru the 80's and 90's. Then new F-150's and even a 2001 Excursion with a 4 inch lift and huge tires which I put 150,00 miles on. I have driven nothing but Ford trucks and SUV's since 1980. I currently drive a 2019 Raptor that I have recently rebuilt the suspension on at 62,000 miles. And they all rode like trucks because that is what they are. Just like my 2021 Gator. It is a truck also but it rides so sweet and smooth compared to all my other trucks that it is an absolute pleasure to drive it. Last fall my Wife and I did a 30 day 8,800 mile road trip to the east coast and back, and I would have been happy doing it in my Raptor. But we took the Gator because that is what we got it for was comfortable road trips. And way more comfortable for my Wife's back. That and we love Lincoln vehicles. Just enjoy your Gator for what it is... A top of the line sweet driving SUV/Truck with a killer sound system that you can be proud to own.

But I will say,,, Take off those useless 22' rims and switch to 20's at the most or even 18's if possible. Then you can put some actual tires on there that are made for a heavy SUV/Truck and not for just cruising to starbucks and back. It will make a huge difference I promise.

There is no question about how much better these Navigators will ride with 20" tires. The sidewall (aspect ratio) on the 22" simply does not absorb road shock. The only positive of the 22" tire/wheel is the aesthetics. I've been tempted to pick up a set of take-offs from new F 150's or Expedition's on CL and FB. The only problem is the center cap has a different diameter so the Lincoln cap won't snap in.
 
Yeah I have seen some nice rims come off of Expeditions. Too bad they won't work. But there are some great aftermarket rims out there that will!
Ya gotta have a big sidewall shouldered tire for these Gators. They are heavy! Makes a world of difference alright.
