2023 Corsair orders, build dates

If you haven't seen the news, the Louisville Assembly Plant will continue to be idle through at least February 24th. Here's a link to an article about this, but I wasn't able to read the entire story because I'm not an Automotive News subscriber:

Ford Motor Co. has extended the temporary closure of its Louisville Assembly Plant for another week as the company continues to deal with a software issue on its freshened Escape and Lincoln Corsair crossovers.

The plant will be down through Feb. 24, according to a note to employees confirmed by Ford. The company previously planned to re-open the plant Feb. 20.

In a message to employees earlier this month, the plant's building chairman, Brandon Reisinger, said it was a software issue with the vehicle's cluster.

"We're on a day-by-day basis right now and I know that's frustrating," Reisinger told employees. "The issue we've got, the cluster, is a software issue. It's not a hardware issue. If it were to get out, it would not be something that would endanger anybody … but it would have the vehicles coming back to the dealership."

The plant is currently in the pre-production phase of the updated Escape and Corsair launch.

Why it’s the pandemic and supply chain lol. Excuse DeJur

I’d love to, assuming my current car holds out and they ever end up producing the 23s. Has there been any confirmed deliveries yet?
No production has been suspended until February 24th because of a software issue.

Saw that today. But if they haven’t even started the orders yet, makes me feel better about where I am in line.

FORD LOUISVILLE ASSEMBLY PLANT PRODUCTION PAUSE EXTENDED

February 20, 2023 9:09 am
As Ford Authority reported last week, 2023 Ford Escape production at the Ford Louisville Assembly plant was paused recently due to a software issue, though at that time, the automaker expected that production would resume today, February 20th. FoMoCo hasn’t elaborated on what, exactly, that software issue is, but it’s apparently serious enough that the automaker has been forced to extend its production pause for another week, according to WDRB News.
The Ford Louisville Assembly plant is now expected to resume production next week, on February 27th, according to a memo seen by the news station. FoMoCo passed on the opportunity to comment on the shutdown, at least in terms of providing details surrounding the pause. “We are committed to ensuring our vehicles are built with the quality our customers deserve and will take the appropriate actions to deliver this commitment,” Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker said in a statement.

“We’re on a day-by-day basis right now and I know that’s frustrating,” Louisville’s UAW Local 862 chairman, Brandon Reisinger, previously told employees at the plant. “The issue we’ve got, the cluster, is a software issue. It’s not a hardware issue. If it were to get out, it would not be something that would endanger anybody … but it would have the vehicles coming back to the dealership.” Reisinger also noted that when production restarts, the automaker intends to make up for the units it has lost as a result of this idle time.
While the refreshed 2023 Ford Escape recently earned the highest possible rating in a revised side-impact evaluation test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the crossover has faced its fair share of supply chain issues as well. Those have prompted Ford to drop the Escape’s hands-free tailgate feature, add manual key options, and implement SiriusXM removal options, too.

No Sirius now 😭

OMG, they had to remove SiriusXM from the Escape? What a sh-storm the company is facing right now in building these vehicles.
I think they’re not able to include the ability to remove it, if I’m reading it right.

Because if it doesn’t come with Sirius, I might not want it.

Sounds like the software issue may be how do we make the software work with all the missing parts lol 😂

These are links I clicked on.The plant is currently in the pre-production phase of the updated Escape and Corsair launch.

They were in BMM1 post.

I ordered my Corsair December 22 and got the immediate email that they had my order, then a week ago got essentially the same email. I will give them a bit longer then will be moving on . They said I'd get an update every 45 days that's 6 weeks way too long for updates on this type of purchase. I hope their customer service is reading these emails!
