2023 Aviator Hands Free Liftgate

I followed the same instructions on the Explorer ST forum and still can't get the hands free lift to work. Do you happen to know what you changed in Forscan for your Aviator?
These are the Forscan notes I have for BCM.

Thank you. I will try those.

I'm posting on here so I end up following this thread. I want to do the same to my wife's '22 Corsair once it is figured out.
You can also post module activation issues under the Forscan Users Topic. A few folks are very versed with module programming via Forscan, and they monitor that topic fairly regularly.

My take on Dguffin's problem could possibly be that he has all hardware in place, and his new module that replaces the "dummy" module could be properly programmed. Problem might be other modules in the communication link may not be properly assigned (switched) to complete the activation of this feature. In many cases, it takes several modules to be assigned to accept the input/output desired for a feature you want to activate.

FoMoCo will not approve of any module non factory re-programming. They know what the factory assignments are. Any altering is done at your own risk! You need to know what you are doing. Even the dealer cannot alter settings from factory, unless approved by FoMoCo.
In the case of this "Tailgate Delete" situation, I hope Lincoln approves & activates the feature for those affected. I do question why they would do so, as they already gave you a credit for not having it.

You need to be careful when replacing / re-assigning modules. You should always know the factory settings & have them downloaded remotely in case you need to revert back to them. Again, you do this at your own risk!
How do you know which other modules, if any, need to be assigned for a feature to work? In my case, I have the VIN to a vehicle that has the feature I want to install (Factory Trailer Hitch) and I hope to compare the two VIN's to see the module assignments of each. My problem is Forscan (to date) cannot tell me this info because Forscan has not been updated as of yet for my vehicle application. (see Forscan Users Thread)

The Forscan Users thread can be found in the Nautilus Forum.

Again, I caution, take care in assigning / reassigning modules, you need to know what you are doing, and do so at your own risk!

Hi icemantx. All auto manufacturers are having the same/similar issues with various parts/commodities. However, most of us do not hear about the problems of other manufacturers because we own or are looking to purchase a Lincoln, and are therefore on a Lincoln Owners website.

Try to factory order a vehicle from another manufacturer, and spend time on their enthusiast websites, and you will find the same parts/commodity shortage issues.

Good luck.
How about an after-delivery option take back/credit issue?
My favorite is the Cadillac (CT-6 I believe) heated windshield washer fluid feature. It was prone to failure, (electrical shorting issues). It was subject to a safety recall, and GM issued a TSB on removing the heater function. Customers were given a $100 credit, and the feature was disabled as customers came in for the campaign & malfunction issues.
More than a few manufactures of luxury vehicles offer this option, with no issues. Cadillac chose to disable rather than fix the issue. It was cheaper for them in the long run no doubt!
So much for the "Standard of the World"

Thanks for posting the Forscan notes.
Just installed a new module and applied the new values on my 2023.
The one additional step I had to take was to run the "BdyCM Local Interconnect Network New Module Calibration"
Now I can’t wait for the next service appointment since I was told at my last visit “there is absolutely NO way to activate the hands free liftgate option!
