I can attest to this. Had a family member order an X7. Whole process from order to delivery was about 8-10 weeks. Was amazed it moved this quick but it happened.
well, for one, I better every time someone orders an X7 in the US, they are all high fiving each other as they aren't exactly burning down the barn on sales. The navigator sold 3 times as many in the US. The X7 isn't exactly a popular vehicle, but it's expensive so likely gets profit margin priority. Second, BMW, sells about 2.3mm vehicles globally across it's different brands while Ford sells probably closer to 4mm. I am just guessing that BMW probably has more chip availability, less chip intensive features and less of a supply chain issue in general. Just a guess, but if you're Ford and looking to maintain your magic sales crown in the the truck market, you prioritize trucks. If you're BMW who holds no crown, you prioritize gross profit.
