- 2020 MKZ Hybrid
I took my MKZ into the dealership to have a side marker lamp/module replaced. When I took my car in my blinkers/headlamps were working properly. However, when I picked up my car my left blinker was not functioning properly. It was blinking at twice the speed as it should. I promptly returned to the dealership to have this checked out and to return the walkie talkie they left in my car. My car has been at the dealership since 1/21 with no definitive diagnosis other than “it’s a software problem not a mechanical problem.” On 3/19 my service advisor called to advise that my car was still not fixed and still no word from Ford engineering on the next steps. Supposedly, they had tested all the modules from the headlight to wherever the final module is but still were stumped. Then on 3/20 I get an invoice texted and emailed to me wanting me to approve a $3200 charge for a new headlamp assembly. First of all, shouldn’t this have been checked first and second wouldn’t this be considered mechanical?
I started the buy back process through Lincoln after my car was in the shop for a month. Ford service reported to Lincoln concierge that replacing the headlamp might not fix the issue.
Has anyone else been through anything like this?
