2013 MKZ 2.0 ECO Push Start.

I was wondering if anyone has came acrossed the issue I had last night.

So last night I was getting ready to leave work so I go outside and use the remote start and it starts no problem. So I come back out in 5 minutes or so and get in my car I press the break in and hit the start button and then hit the drive button and the car just shuts off???? So I put it back in park and try starting it again and all i get is the dash lights and a blinking green start/stop button and also the message saying run power active. So i sit in my car for like 5 minutes trying to start it and still nothing. So I get out of my car and try to use the remote start and that wont even work now. Does anyone have any idea whats going on? My car is still at my work now and im going back in about a hour. Im thinking it could possibly be the break sensor? But if it was that i think the remote start would still work.

I just had this exact problem yesterday. Was at the grocery store and came out to put groceries in trunk. I remote started the vehicle while loading the groceries. My wife has a key fob and got in the vehicle but did not touch anything. I got in, and depressed the brake and pressed the start button and my vehicle acted the exact same way. Engine shut off, but all other indicators showed normal. I tried using the cup holder detent like the owner's manual suggests and it did no good. We got out, waited 30 minutes and tried again and the car still would not start. Called Lincoln roadside assistance and the dealership. Roadside Assistance sent a tow truck and had it towed to the dealership and they gave me a loaner vehicle until they can get mine diagnosed on Monday. Dealer service guy said he had not seen this problem before. I'll try and post their response of what they say on Monday.

As frustrating as this is the dealership and Lincoln Roadside Assistance has been solid in their responsiveness to my issues so far. I will say I am very nervous now about all the intermittent electronic faults that seem to exist in the 2013 year model.

So officially it's the end of first day in Service department (My MKZ got dropped off at the close of business on Saturday) and they don't know why it won't start. They have a trouble ticket out to Ford to see how they've resolved this issue in the past. If anyone else has had a similar experience and how they resolved the problem I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

Just to share, I found this Tech Service Bulletin from Ford while searching around last night. I'm not sure my service department has or is aware of this but I'll quiz them today if no resolution.

And looks like that was the problem. They reprogrammed the RKE Module and the RTM and she is running again. I'm hoping this takes and I don't have a repeat of the failure to start episode.
