I have a 2011 Lincoln MKX and my key fob has a chip responder that says continental, now is this the correct one or has mine been changed out? My car all of a sudden started doing things it didn’t do before, like no key detected.
That's the correct one, same as my 2011 MKx fob.I have a 2011 Lincoln MKX and my key fob has a chip responder that says continental, now is this the correct one or has mine been changed out? My car all of a sudden started doing things it didn’t do before, like no key detected.
I’m not sure if it’s the one that came with it, and I purchased this from a previous owner and I only have one, the previous person said they only had that one as he bought it from the used section from a ford dealership.Hi Chularude. That is not "Continental" as in "Lincoln Continental", it is the company/manufacturer "Continental". They probably make that part of the innards.
Is this the fob you have had since you purchased the vehicle? If yes, the battery is probably dying. Have you changed the battery/batteries in the Fob? That would be your first step. The instructions are in your Owners Manual.
Also, new cars come with two fobs. Do you have both fobs? If yes, does the second one work properly?
Change the battery/batteries in the fob and let us know how you make out.
Good luck.
