I have a 2010 mkx I bought about a year ago. Originally, the front right low beam would have sporadic issues turning on. It would after a few seconds or so. It has recently stopped coming on all together. I’ve checked the bulb and connector pins at the headlight and the SJB and there’s no corrosion, melting, or anything indicating an issue.
With the power and lights off, I get a voltage of about 8.83 on pin 1 (which is for the low beam) and both the right and left headlight. However, when I turn the lights on, the left headlight jumps up closer to 12 volts but the right remains the same. I’ve tested the power at the SJB and the switch inside and it’s the 12 volts.
From what I can tell everything is grounded too. I’ve traced the wiring clear back to where it comes out of the main wiring bundle and there doesn’t appear to be any issues either.
Can someone please point me in the right direction? I need my headlights!!
