Did this year Town Car have a trunk mounted CD player as an option?

I don't believe so. The option was for an in-dash 6-Disc Head Unit. I say this because I searched for the connections in the trunk on my 2004 to add one and came up empty.

According to on-line manuals, in-trunk changers were available in both 2004 and 2005. Probably only available with one of the premium sound systems. From what All2kool says, it looks like the in-trunk wiring would not be in place with a standard system.

My 2004 had just the basic Head Unit with a single CD. I did install an iSimple IS77 iPod connection to enjoy more music. Worked great and no static as it connected directly to the antenna port on the back of the Head Unit. Charged the iPod as it played too. Hid the control unit under the AUX Port and had the connector come out of the Ash Tray area.

Factory installed? How many CD's did the Head Unit accept?
To be honest I don't know. It got pulled in the first few weeks of having the car. I put a real head unit in that has bluetooth. The changer is still mounted in the trunk. The head unit might be somewhere on a shelf in the garage. I might find it one day and stick it on ebay.

Lincoln's brochure for '04 states that a 6-cd trunk unit was available on the 'L' model.
