I recently purchased a 2004 Town Car Ultimate L with factory Navigation. I am looking to add Sirius to the system. I did this with a 06 Expedition… was pretty easy (I have years of experience installing radios, Amps, etc as a Teenager, before you could buy pigtails). Anyway, after the factory radio crapped out, I went aftermarket sound with my Expedition, and yanked out the Sirius… I have attempted to look to see if I could use the same black box unit, but no one has a listed part # for the Sirius Navigation interface cable or “black box”. Calling my one of the local dealers (Metro Atlanta) was next to useless… I know more than they do… Does anyone know the part numbers for the cable, and or black box? I also was reading that the 04 needs a firmware update in order for the Sirius/SAT to be available on the Navigation display. Any info would be much appreciated…
I really want to stick with factory as the Pioneer Navigation 6-CD changer is pretty nifty.... My Expedition set is nicer but the whole conversion, Head Unit, Speakers, additional Amp, IPod/IPhone interface was a pretty penny....

Well.... If anyone has a similar issue I can tell you the kit works. Installed it in my town car yesterday. Now just looking for the firmware upgrade.

Update: I have installed the Sirius Kit form my 2006 Expedition.... it worked after I flashed the firmware. I spent many an hour attempting to track down the disk... I finally did... www.AncoAuto.com has complete kits and the ability to just get you the update disk... this works for 2003-2004 Town Car, Lincoln LS, Aviator and Navigator with the Pioneer NAV unit. I contacted several so called Ford/Lincoln, Mercury radio experts...Clueless... I also went to two dealers ,one in Georgia and one in South Carolina.... Clueless.... one jerk told me that is was impossible..... Well I now have Sirius in my 2004 Town Car Ultimate L.... If anyone has a similar issue go to www.AncoAuto.com... Andy can help.
