2004 Navigator Exhaust

Exhaust is in!!!

 Hey NickT, Nice work on your exhaust. I\'d like to do something to my exhaust pretty much the same as you\'ve done. But I\'ll need to replace the cats with new ones as mine are about shot. I have to have them here in GA ( so much for these people being \'rebels\'!!!) :soapbox: but for mufflers I\'d really want something that\'s got a burble except when I\'d stand on it. So we\'re talking an X pipe after the new cats??? pipes going into the the new mufflers and then some tailpipes, right? I have a Lincoln wire feed welder here so I can put stuff together. What would you recommend and how much?

Nick T, I have a set of \"89\" Mustang GT tail pipes. Are they different?
If they would work I\'m ready to order.
so roughly, about 80 for both sides parts wise, and then you will do the extensions for 50 bucks a side, and we weld in. on so about 180 for the setup plus shipping, plus whoever installs them on the car welds the pipes into place right, since no one is going to buy one side. tell me if i\'m wrong.
That seems about right to me, unless I am missing something

Dr., The GT pipes I have used also, I got LX ones this time cause I was making them like LX\'s on my car that hang lower, but really does not matter since I cut them way before those bends come into effect to hang lower.

Teal, I would suggest a x-pipe with cats if you need them. My car without cats is pretty mellow in my book with the Magnaflows, so with cats would be even quieter. It is according to your noise tollerance and how the cops break balls in your area. You have alot of choices in mufflers, I would say listen to them on mustangs(stock) and realize it will be quieter on the LSC with longer pipe!!!As far as price, whatever a x-pipe you get, mufflers, what I mentioned above, and if you have to pay any install, so that can vary alot!!

when you need them by????

I am very interested in stainless tails. Let me know exactly what I need to do. I have no faith in my local exhaust guys so I am hoping you can get them welded up so they are pretty much plug and play. Am I asking for too much?

Hmmm, plug and play is tough unless I do them on a car and then remove them, with them in 2 pieces it will give you a little more adjustability. Ever buy one of those exhaust systems that say they are specific to your car and they are no way near just bolt in, never line up correctly and stuff.

So, I would need to have a local shop do the weld behind the axle? Is that it?
