Hey there, I know there aren't too many 98-01's on the road these days but I'll post this in case it helps someone.

If you are trying to change the upstream passenger side O2 sensor, first of all, good luck lol, this job was a pain in the ass...

Here is what I did to get it out. I did not remove the tire but I will say that it probably would have made my life much easier.

-Turned my wheels all the way to the left
-Removed inner wheel protector
-Sprayed O2 sensor with PB blaster and drove around for a day
-Removed bolt holding transmission fluid dipstick hose (you need to move the hose around a bit to get clearance for the tool)
-Used this tool from amazon. It's hard, but you can work this tool through and lock it onto the plug. I then laid on the ground and pushed up to get enough leverage to break sensor free.

-Disconnect the connector. This is also very difficult, I found it impossible to push the release in and pull down on the plug at the same time. I ended up wrapping a long wire around the cord and then the wifey crawled under the car with me and pull down on the wire while I pushed the release tab in.
-Install new plug. Hardest part about this was twisting the new sensor in as the cord doesn't have a lot of space to twist around with the sensor and you really don't want to twist the wires too much. If you have a pair of long nosed pliers use those to guide the new plug to the connector.
