Follow the installation directions exactly. Make sure the mating surfaces are absolutely clean.
Follow torque sequence exactly.
The install procedure is key for long term service life. Getting the manifold aligned and the aluminum cross over correctly positioned is key.

I sure did! Fingers crossed

I changed my '97 intake manifold in 2012 the year after I got the car. I bought the replacement from Ford, I could have saved $100 by buying a Dorman aftermarket unit but Ford claimed they had had trouble once and had to go back to an OEM part. The Ford replacement has a conventional gasket rather than o-rings I found detailed step by step instructions I think on this forum which simplified the replacement a great deal. Also while open Ford reccommented changing the cooling pipe and hose that is underneath the manifold as when it fails it requires entire removal of the manifold again. That was in 2012 and the car has run fine ever since. Good Luck!

So no chance of just a gasket for a small coolant leak

It is possible, just not likely.
And the manifold has seals, not gaskets.

I see a box on the left side of the motor if you are standing in front of the car, where ac metal lines are going into it,also has a metal ,silver heat shield on it , underneath that is where the leak is coming from don't know if that's heater core lines or what ,2006 sig. Town car

The description makes no sense to me. Maybe some one else can understand.

Or post a picture, the draw an arrow to the leak.

About a year ago, my local Ford dealer told me the intake manifold for my 2003 Town Car was discontinued. With reluctance I installed a Dorman manifold. I could feel the lost 20 Foot Pounds (or so) of torque. Shame on FORD!
