Ok you all might remember me trying to rig my fuel lines and make them work and i failed miserably. Now i have a choice say f it run some rubber line for now, serch for lines, or switch to braided lines\' and a new inline filter set up. Now keep in mind this will be a daily driver and i still have to put brakes on it. I dont know what to do

I don\'t know what you were trying to do before.
A way to install new fuel lines is get a roll of 3/8\" alum line from Summit and select fittings to adapt at each end.
Run the new line under the car and clamp in place as you form fit it withhout folding to restriction.
Any rubber hose you use must be of the type for fuel and have 100 psi plus pressure rating on the feed side. Return has less of a pressure requirement.
Long runs of rubber can be troublesome if not clamped every 6\" or so.

Start bending your own steel lines, drop tank, change pump, POR15 up under there, re-assemble.

Whatever you do, don\'t half-ass it. Gasoline isn\'t something to mess around with. I had a fuel leak out of one of the fuel lines up on top of the intake. Could have been VERY messy had I not noticed it before heading on an 850 mile trip.

What he said. Also, you should be able to go to an auto parts store and pick up a plastic fuel line repair kit. They should rent it to you. I had to replace all of the plastic lines in my car after an unfortunate welding accident. :freak:

im NOT re droping the tank, that was a PAIN IN THE BALLS, its got a BRAND new tank, and por 15 to expensive the car is gonna get an oil bath unerneath. I have no choice.! all i need is to replace from the nylon to the quick connects. Is the repair kit hard to use? remeber im 16 i have some skills but not alot, i think im gonna throw the correct rubber line on it now all i need is it to reach maybe 5 inches i need to be able to move the car around. Then i guess im gonnahave to make new lines for the others. Plus ill look into the repair kit. Damn this car is lucky i like it, its a freaking money pit!

I\'m being honest, so please don\'t take this personally: if you find dropping the tank to be that cumbersome of an endeavor, you truly ought to rethink what you are doing. The fuel tank is a matter of a couple bolts, and doesn\'t take much to remove. Just go with a fuel line repair, and do it the right way.

you dont know the pains i went though to get that tank in there took me 3 hours to get it up, stupid platic tank cover and straps didnt fit the new tank right, i had to mount one strap in a different location cuase someone fed it up before. It wasnt simple.

I\'ve done it myself, I know how difficult (or the lack thereof) it is. Just a little gentle advice.

Rep for Mr. McAli-- McMadMac.

I\'d vote to suck it up and treat it as another learning experience..

Maybe someone in a less-rusty location can find Mason some less-rusty fuel lines? That would be cooool.

yea i wish it looks like im gonna bite the bullet and just rig it for now, then do it right. but im not pulling the tank again, its not needed

what do you mean? of course im gonna do it right after. theres no way im leaving it like that, wont pass inspection, nor is it safe. This car is my baby, im not gonna mess it up.

When are you not going to mess it up? When you rig it or when you do it the second time?

After what? If you know it isn\'t safe, why are you doing it in the first place?

Thanks for the chuckle, Mc.

Mason. Realize that in asking us to help you decide whether you should \'rig\' fuel lines or do the repair the correct way.. you\'re asking us if you should risk blowing yourself up.

I still vote don\'t rig it.
